"Let them drink cream."
— Purrl, Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Template:Infobox villager Purrl (たま, Tama) is a snooty, cat villager. She appears in all games from the Animal Crossing series. Calicoes have a myth of being a lucky type of cat, so Purrl can be suited as her name. Her name sounds similar to both the noise that a cat makes, "purr", and a gemstone prized for its elegance and shine, "pearl", referring to her "shiny and refined"-based personality.

Appearance

Purrl is a multicolored calico cat - creamy white with mahogany brown and ginger olive patches. She has light lavender inside her ears and her initial clothing is the Asian shirt. There are ebony black spots on the back of her head, arms, tail, and legs as well. She has well-defined lower lashes. She also has white tips on her paws, known as "socks".

Personality

Below is a brief description of the snooty personality. For more information, click here. As a snooty villager, Purrl will appear uptown, classy, and chic. With this, however, she will appear rude, belittling, and snobbish when talking to the player or other villagers in the town, usually criticizing their dress sense or fashion. When talking to the player enough times, she will befriend them but still remain subtly rude. As with all snooty villagers, she has an interest in clothes over other hobbies. She will have problems socializing with other villagers, usually lazy villagers by disagreeing with their choice of lifestyle or getting offended by a jock villager, who has questioned her physical fitness.

House

Purrl's house has a very sophisticated theme in the original Animal Crossing. Her house has the Perfect Painting and various items from the Exotic Series. She also has two Fizzoids and a bird cage. She has the concrete wall and the checkered tile in her home.

In Animal Crossing: Wild World, Purrl no longer has the Perfect Painting or the Caladium, but retains many furniture items first found in her original house. Purrl now has an Exotic Screen and a Cabana Bookcase, but she does not have the Mini Fizzoid. She still has the Concrete Wall and the Checkered tile.

In Animal Crossing: City Folk, Purrl retains many of the new additions introduced in Wild World, but she no longer has a Hi-Fi Stereo, replacing it instead with a Corn Plant. The wallpaper and floor are the same as they were in previous two games.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Purrl's house appears to be more different from the previous versions. She replaced the Concrete Wall with the Exquisite Wall, which gives her home a more comfortable feeling than the old wallpaper. Furthermore she added more furniture items from the Classic Series: the sofa returns, while the bed is an replacement for the Exotic Bed and the table is needed for her Azalea Bonsai. She still owns the Exotic Screen and gains an Exotic Table with a Tea Vase on its top and an Exotic Wall Shelf as well. To fill up the room, there is also a Croton. An Antique Clock, a Retro TV and a Hi-fi Stereo returned from previous games. Purrl also has a new Gyriod, a Strumbiod.

K.K. Swing plays in Purrl's house in all games.
