Refurbishing furniture is a new feature introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. All refurbishes are performed by Cyrus. Once the player has unlocked the ability to speak to Cyrus, they may take furniture (or ores such as for the Golden Series) and redesign their existing furniture. Players can use clothes, patterns, and ores to refurbish. In New Horizons, furniture customization is integrated into the DIY system, making use of customization kits to alter furniture appearance.

Acquiring Cyrus

In order for the player to wake up Cyrus, the player must do all of the following:

  • Played the game for 7 days
  • Sold 100,000 Bells worth of items to Reese
  • Have 100 pieces of furniture in their catalog
  • Have 50 piece of clothing in their catalog
  • Note: If the Nookling Stores have not upgraded to T&T Mart, the player can still acquire Cyrus, but will not be able to view how many items they have in their catalog.

Golden Series

If the player gives Cyrus 3 gold nuggets and 10,000 Bells, then he will create one of the 13 items from the Golden Series. The player may receive duplicates before receiving the entire series.
