Rowan is a tiger villager in the Animal Crossing series who first appears in Animal Crossing as a cranky islander, then reappears in Wild World and all later games as a jock villager. This makes Rowan the first villager to have a personality change between games.

In New Horizons, Rowan has the fitness hobby and will wear [[Item:Sporty Shades ({{{2}}})|Sporty Shades]] and lift heavy dumbbells while exercising.

Appearance

Rowan is an orange tiger with black stripes and a large white muzzle. He has small belittling eyes, a characteristic of his former cranky personality, and an aqua color in his ears. As an islander in Doubutsu no Mori+, Animal Crossing, and Doubutsu no Mori e+, he wore a straw hat, which he no longer wears in future installments.

Personality

Rowan's personality changes from a cranky islander in Animal Crossing to a jock villager from Animal Crossing: Wild World onwards. He is the first villager to have his personality changed.

Rowan first appears in Animal Crossing as a cranky villager, and will appear mature compared to other personality types. This will make him appear belittling and insensitive to other villagers, including the player. Despite this, he will learn to confide in the player, considering them his only friend. He will enjoy the usual hobbies, but for relaxation and peace than competition. He will find it difficult to socialize with peppy villagers, who he will criticize when talking to other villagers. He will get along with normal and snooty villagers, as well as other cranky villagers, who he will share deeper conversations with. He will, on occasion, annoy a normal villager, usually when being mean about something or someone.

Since Animal Crossing: Wild World, Rowan has a jock personality, which means he will have a keen interest in sport and fitness, making him appear competitive and in some cases rude when talking to other villagers, usually criticizing their fitness. He will appear slow-witted and absent-minded when talking about deep, meaningful things. He will get along well with peppy villagers, but get confused by the choice of lifestyle followed by lazy villagers, who appear opposite to the jock personality. He may offend and upset snooty and cranky villagers.

Fruit Allergy

As an islander, he has a favorite fruit and a fruit that he is allergic to. Feeding him the allergy fruit will reduce the likelihood of him dropping money bags. Rowan is allergic to pears and loves apples.
