The Automatic Bell Dispenser, known as Bellpoint in PAL games, commonly refered to as the ABD, is a machine similar to an ATM (Automatic Teller Machine, or Cash Machine). It allows you to access the Bank of Nintendo, allowing you to pay your mortgage to Tom Nook, withdraw and deposit Bells, or reissue a shopping card. 0.5% interest is given on the first of each month. The ABD is only featured in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

Locations

An ABD is located in Town Hall below the Civic Center window.
  • In the city, an ABD is located above the Marquee. This ABD machine is for the main branch of the bank rather than the town branch of the bank. There is no functional difference between the Town Hall ABD.
  • An ABD furniture item is also obtainable by depositing 999,999,999 Bells in the bank.

Shopping Card

After 10,000 Bells have been deposited into a bank account, the bank will send a Shopping Card (which is also referred to simply as a card) in the mail. This card works in the same way as a debit card, allowing the player to spend money in their bank account without carrying the Bells around. A Golden Card can be obtained by becoming a VIP at the bank, when a total of 1,000,000 Bells has been deposited into the account. It works the same way as the regular shopping card.

Items

After despositing a certain number of Bells in the bank, you will receive a letter containing various presents:

  • 10,000 Bells will result in a shopping card being mailed.
  • 100,000 Bells will result in a Tissue box, which is merely a decorative piece of furniture.
  • 10,000,000 Bells will result in a Piggy Bank furniture piece.
  • 100,000,000 Bells will result in a Mailbox furniture piece.
  • 999,999,999 Bells will result in a functional ABD furniture piece.
