Shamrock Day is an event in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Animal Crossing: New Horizons that occurs on March 17. It occurs only in North American towns and is based on the real-life holiday St. Patrick's Day.

In New Leaf[edit]
During the event, Isabelle can be found in front of the Town Tree in the event plaza next to a specially-themed photo standee, but will instead relocate in front of the town hall if the event happens to coincide with the March Fishing Tourney (as it does in 2018). If the player talks to Isabelle, she will inform the player about the holiday and give them a shamrock hat.
In New Horizons[edit]
While initially absent in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Shamrock Day was added in the 1.8.0 Free Update. The event is celebrated from March 10 to 17 in three separate occasions. The first is a Nook Shopping seasonal event where the player can buy a shamrock doorplate, shamrock rug, and shamrock soda. The second is an Able Sisters seasonal event where the player can purchase a shamrock hat, shamrock shoes, shamrock suit, and shamrock sunglasses. Lastly, the player can pop balloons to obtain a DIY recipe for a shamrock wand.
