Sprocket is an jock, ostrich villager in the Animal Crossing series. His name is a direct reference to a sprocket (a piece of machinery), or is possibly a portmanteau of "sprint" and "rocket." His Japanese name, Hertz, is a measurement of electromagnetic frequency, further referencing his status as a robot.

In New Horizons, Sprocket has the music hobby and will be more frequently seen singing or dancing. If a stereo is set outside with a song playing, he will sing to the melody; if other instruments are set up, such as drums or guitars, he may play along.

Appearance

Sprocket has a mechanical exterior, with a green head, grey body, and an orange beak and legs. He barely looks like a normal ostrich as he is mostly a robot but he has a few thin, green hairs on the back of his head. He is one of a few robotic-looking villagers; Ribbot, a grey mechanical frog, is another example.

Sprocket is a jock villager with an interest in fitness and sports, which he will mention frequently – to the dismay of other villagers in the town. He will get along with peppy villager, but will not get along with lazy villagers, due to their dislike of exercising. He may also offend smug and snooty villagers, offending snooty villagers by questioning their physical appearance or smug villagers for being obsessed with fashion.
