It did not appear in the original Animal Crossing. It appeared in Animal Crossing: Wild World when the player put in an invalid song name. Due to it being a secret song, no villagers play Stale Cupcakes in their home and it can only be obtained by request in all of its appearing games. It makes one think of a small child trying to stay up late on Christmas eve waiting for Santa until the child finally falls alseep.
