Given this info, would it be notable to point out on the appropriate pages that a certain painting replaced another in a previous version? Name Change[edit]

Because the page starts off saying that it is art not paintings and it refers to both paintings and sculptures and goes over sculptures in small detail. I was wondering if the page's name should be changed to art, it will also save a extra article for sculptures that would pretty much be a copy of this page. Your thoughts? I agree. IMO, since paintings and sculptures are put together in one category in New Leaf, we should rename the article "Artwork". Under the New Leaf section, we can have a subsection for paintings, and another for sculptures. ~SuperHamster Talk 12:56, 18 July 2013 (EDT)

Art Genuineness[edit]

I think it might be worth adding an additional column for the Paintings section of New Leaf to mark which ones are always genuine. For the record, none of the sculptures are always genuine.

The always genuine paintings are:

  • Perfect Painting
  • Nice Painting
  • Common Painting
  • Flowery Painting
  • Warm Painting
  • Fine Painting
  • Proper Painting
  • Worthy Painting
  • Calm Painting
  • Moody Painting
  • Scenic Painting

So it's something to keep in mind. AgentParadox (talk) 13:47, May 28, 2019 (EDT)

That piece of information is implicitly included in Forgery, linked throughout the page and in the See also section. Including that here may be redundant. >Decomposer Emotion Icon - Curiosity (NL) cropped.png Emotion Icon - Pride (NL) cropped.png 05:08, June 6, 2019 (EDT)

Split lists into their own pages[edit]

I am proposing that we split the lists by game into their own pages (i.e. Art/New Horizons, Art/New Leaf, etc.), similar to the bug and fish lists. For these pages, a {{TableHeader}} parameter for art would need to be created. This parameter would be nearly identical to the furniture one for its respective game, with an added column titled "Description", which would be for the museum description for that piece of art. Similar to Bugs and Fish, a master list of all art in the series could be added here, along with links to each game's list page. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 16:52, June 3, 2020 (EDT)

I'd assume that splitting this article is on the imaginary to-do list like the fossil page. So, yes, I support this. However, I don't think that the museum description is worth having on the pages. I feel that it should stay in the specific arts' articles. I would understand putting the real life art name and/or "always genuine?" columns. + linking/translucing the forgery subpages when applicable. Thanks for taking the initiative on this, AlexBot2004! To be honest, {{TableHeader}} needs a more flexible replacement. Hard-coding column headers into the template was not a good idea in retrospect. Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 17:09, June 8, 2020 (EDT)

Yeah, I think it would be good if we had a base template or something where users can create custom headers for smaller use cases like this. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 17:27, June 8, 2020 (EDT)

Painting "Replacements"[edit]

So there's this post I found on Tumblr that showcases all the paintings found within every version of the original Animal Crossing game, and on the bottom picture (which you can view on its own here), you'll notice that the paintings that are exclusive to specific versions share an "item value" across each other. To list off the specifics:

Given this info, would it be notable to point out on the appropriate pages that a certain painting replaced another in a previous version? (e.g. something like "The Lovely Painting is a replacement of the Dreadful Painting from Doubutsu no Mori. The Lovely Painting was replaced with the Basic Painting in the North American localization.") TurtleCrossing (talk) 22:37, February 5, 2021 (EST)

That seems reasonable/notable to me. Feel free to add the info to the appropriate article pages. It would also be helpful to cite the source you linked if and when you do so. Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 13:36, February 7, 2021 (EST)
