Move to more official name[edit]

As far as I can tell, Hometown Day is not the official name for the event. The in-game name changes based on the player's town's name, so we can't directly use that as a name. There are two potential names it could be moved to:

  • The official Nintendo Power guide, as seen here, uses "Your Hometown" Day (quotes included). The current article name comes from the guide, but altered to remove your and the quotes.
  • The in-game name could be used, replacing the player's town's name with "Town" (Town Day), while explaining how the name works in a note.

I would go with the first option. It's more official-sounding. -- PanchamBro (talkcontributions) 22:26, May 24, 2021 (EDT)
I actually prefer Town Day, but I don't think its any less arbitrary or more appropriate than "Your Hometown" day. I agree though that the current name is a bit in-between.Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 20:25, July 1, 2021 (EDT)
I agree with Pancham that "Your Hometown" Day is the closest to an "official" name, but to be quite honest, I dislike the idea of having to use quotation marks in an article title. I personally prefer either Town Day or to just keep the name as is, but neither of those terms have seen official usage. Overall, there's really no "pleasible" (for lack of a better term) name for this event and it could go either way.
