Timmy Nook and Tommy Nook, collectively known as the Nooklings, are twin apprentices of Tom Nook, the raccoon (tanuki in Japan and South Korea) who runs the town's store. Their full names are revealed in NL to be Timothy and Thomas. In PG, WW, and CF, they service the second floor of Nookington's. In short, they run their own establishment, the Nookling Stores. In NH, they run Nook's Cranny. Timmy and Tommy serve the same function as Tom Nook in previous games—both can buy items the player is selling, show the player their personal catalog, and state how much turnips are selling for.
+
Timothy Nook and Thomas Nook, often known simply as Timmy and Tommy, and collectively known as the Nooklings or T&T, are twin raccoonsTanuki in Japan and Korea. in the SER who are apprentices of Tom Nook. In games prior to NL, the two work on the second floor of Nookington's, and beginning in short they operate their own store.

Timmy and Tommy attempt to speak in unison, but one always lags behind the other, causing one to repeat every last word the other says. In short, they instead make quiet remarks after speaking, as they rarely appear alongside each other. Both twins share resemblance to Tom Nook, even mimicking some of his phrases. Apparently, from some discussions with Tom Nook, the two can be distinguished by a mole on one of their hands, though even he is occasionally uncertain which is which. Timmy's voice is slightly higher-pitched and he is stated to be older than Tommy.
+
Which of the two twins is the older brother is inconsistent; the B03 Timmy & Tommy Animal Crossing-e card and the Tommy & Timmy Nook trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl state that Tommy is older, while the twins' RV in NLWa and their description on Play Nintendo state that Timmy is older.

Despite their strong resemblance to him, the exact nature of their relationship with Tom Nook is unclear. The PG e-Reader cards imply that the Nooklings are Tom's sons or nephews, but Nook states in WW that he has no relation to them, and that they are simply his employees. In later games, certain villagers mention that Tom Nook found the Nooklings as orphans and adopted them.
+
Characteristics
 +
Appearance
 +
Timmy and Tommy are similar in appearance to Tom Nook, and they are visually indistinguishable from one another. According to Tom Nook in short, Tommy has a mole on his left wrist, while Timmy has a mole on his right wrist, although he is not sure if it is the other way around.

Their names appear to be simply derived from Tom Nook's. Their Japanese names come from mame, bean, and tsubu, grain, referring to their small size. Both also end with "-kichi," same as Tom Nook's Japanese name, Tanukichi.
+
The Nooklings' outfits change based on which store they are in, much like Tom Nook. In short prior to the construction of Nook's Cranny, Timmy and Tommy wear the Green Nook Inc. Aloha Shirt in spring and summer, and the Nook Inc. Blouson in winter. Both almost always wear the same outfit, with the only exception being their pajamas in , short, and short; Timmy wears blue, while Tommy wears green.
 +

 +
Personality
 +
Timmy and Tommy attempt to speak in unison, but one always lags behind the other, causing one to repeat the last part of the other's dialogue. The exception to this is in short; in this game, since the Nooklings no longer work together, they simply make short remarks afterward, appearing in the dialog box as smaller text and playing a quieter talking sound.
 +

 +
According to Tom Nook in short, the Nooklings are mischievous, eating his after-work snack honey and staying out of trouble by saying they only did it because they aspire to be like him. Nook also reveals that the two come to him individually for their paychecks, which he believes is them "testing" him to see if he can tell them apart.
 +

 +
Relationships
 +
Tom Nook
 +
Despite the Nooklings' strong resemblance to Tom Nook, the exact nature of their relationship with him is unclear. Timmy's PG e-Reader card implies that the Nooklings are Tom's sons or nephews, but in short Nook states that he is not related to them and they are simply his employees. This is also supported by the Nooklings' character bio on the official Japanese short website. Nook also states in short that he thinks of himself as a mentor to the Nooklings.
 +

 +
Despite their strong relationship, Tom Nook can easily mistake either Timmy for Tommy and vise versa due to their similar appearance, as evident with a NookTail comic where Tom Nook gives the Nooklings the wrong certifications.

In DnM, PG, and , Timmy and Tommy operate the second floor of Nookington's, offering the same functions as Tom Nook.
Timmy and Tommy make their first appearance in DnM, and later in PG and , where they run the upstairs room of the final upgrade of Tom Nook's store, Nookington's. Until the final upgrade, Tom Nook's store is run solely by Tom Nook, who only runs the first floor of Nookington's. Nookington's is unlocked by spending and/or selling at least 240,000 Bells worth of items and having a player from another town buy at least one item in the store. Timmy and Tommy sell 6 random pieces of furniture, 3 random carpets, 3 random wallpapers, and 5 random clothing items.

Timmy and Tommy run the town's store, as Tom Nook now runs Nook's Homes. Only one of them will be in the store at a time (except T&T Emporium, where one works on each floor) because they work shifts. These shifts are different for each variation of the store. Similar to Tom Nook's Store in previous games, Timmy and Tommy's store will be remodeled and expanded after certain requirements are met. The remodeling order is as follows: Nookling Junction, T&T Mart, Super T&T, T.I.Y., and T&T Emporium.
+
In NL, Timmy and Tommy now run their own store. In all incarnations of the store except T&T Emporium, only one of the Nooklings works at a time. At the Nookling Junction, Timmy works on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and Tommy works on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; at T&T Mart, Timmy works from 7 PM to 5 AM and Tommy works from 6 AM to 7 PM; and at Super T&T and T.I.Y., Timmy works from Friday to Sunday and Tommy works from Monday to Thursday. At T&T Emporium, Tommy works on the first floor and Timmy works on the second floor.

nolink
The first time the player visits Re-Tail, Timmy sells an item to Reese. Once their store upgrades to T&T Emporium, Timmy and Tommy begin to sign letters with their full names: Timothy and Thomas.

In NH, Timmy and Tommy operate the Nook Inc. development venture along with Tom Nook. At the beginning of the game, Timmy will sell and buy items inside Resident Services while Tommy will wander the island and offer helpful advice when talked to. Later in the game, the player can assist them in building their shop, Nook's Cranny. Once doing so, both Timmy and Tommy will start working there.
+
In NH, Timmy and Tommy operate the Nook Inc. development venture along with Tom Nook, and they guide the player through picking their initial appearance, name, and island layout. Prior to the construction of Nook's Cranny, Timmy sells and buys items in the Resident Services tent while Tommy wanders the island during the day and offers advice to the player when spoken to.

When speaking to either Timmy or Tommy, the player can sell items and check current turnip prices. Since Timmy and Tommy can speak to players separately, up to two players can simultaneously buy or sell items.
+
The day after the player pays off their first home loan, Timmy tells them about his plan to build a store, and he gives them a list of materials to bring him. Once the store is built, Timmy and Tommy start working there.

 Timmy & Tommy

Timothy Nook and Thomas Nook, often known simply as Timmy and Tommy, and collectively known as the Nooklings or T&T, are twin raccoons[nb 3] in the Animal Crossing series who are apprentices of Tom Nook. In games prior to Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the two work on the second floor of Nookington's, and beginning in New Leaf they operate their own store.

Which of the two twins is the older brother is inconsistent; the B03 Timmy & Tommy Animal Crossing-e card and the Tommy & Timmy Nook trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl state that Tommy is older, while the twins' RV in Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo and their description on Play Nintendo state that Timmy is older.

Characteristics

Appearance

Timmy and Tommy are similar in appearance to Tom Nook, and they are visually indistinguishable from one another. According to Tom Nook in Wild World, Tommy has a mole on his left wrist, while Timmy has a mole on his right wrist, although he is not sure if it is the other way around.

The Nooklings' outfits change based on which store they are in, much like Tom Nook. In New Horizons prior to the construction of Nook's Cranny, Timmy and Tommy wear the Green Nook Inc. Aloha Shirt in spring and summer, and the Nook Inc. Blouson in winter. Both almost always wear the same outfit, with the only exception being their pajamas in Doubutsu no Mori e+, Happy Home Designer, and amiibo Festival; Timmy wears blue, while Tommy wears green.

Personality

Timmy and Tommy attempt to speak in unison, but one always lags behind the other, causing one to repeat the last part of the other's dialogue. The exception to this is in New Leaf; in this game, since the Nooklings no longer work together, they simply make short remarks afterward, appearing in the dialog box as smaller text and playing a quieter talking sound.

According to Tom Nook in Wild World, the Nooklings are mischievous, eating his after-work snack honey and staying out of trouble by saying they only did it because they aspire to be like him. Nook also reveals that the two come to him individually for their paychecks, which he believes is them "testing" him to see if he can tell them apart.

Relationships

Tom Nook

Despite the Nooklings' strong resemblance to Tom Nook, the exact nature of their relationship with him is unclear. Timmy's Animal Crossing e-Reader card implies that the Nooklings are Tom's sons or nephews, but in Wild World Nook states that he is not related to them and they are simply his employees. This is also supported by the Nooklings' character bio on the official Japanese City Folk website.[1] Nook also states in Wild World that he thinks of himself as a mentor to the Nooklings.

Despite their strong relationship, Tom Nook can easily mistake either Timmy for Tommy and vise versa due to their similar appearance, as evident with a NookTail comic where Tom Nook gives the Nooklings the wrong certifications.[2]

Appearances

In Animal Crossing

Timmy and Tommy in Nookington's in Animal Crossing.

In Doubutsu no Mori, Animal Crossing, and Doubutsu no Mori e+, Timmy and Tommy operate the second floor of Nookington's, offering the same functions as Tom Nook.

In Wild World and City Folk

In Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk, like in Animal Crossing, Timmy and Tommy appear on the second floor of Nookington's.

In New Leaf

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Timmy and Tommy now run their own store.

The first time the player visits Re-Tail, Timmy sells an item to Reese. Once their store upgrades to T&T Emporium, Timmy and Tommy begin to sign letters with their full names: Timothy and Thomas.

In New Horizons

The Nooklings in the upgraded Nook's Cranny in New Horizons

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Timmy and Tommy operate the Nook Inc. development venture along with Tom Nook, and they guide the player through picking their initial appearance, name, and island layout. Prior to the construction of Nook's Cranny, Timmy sells and buys items in the Resident Services tent while Tommy wanders the island during the day and offers advice to the player when spoken to.

The day after the player pays off their first home loan, Timmy tells them about his plan to build a store, and he gives them a list of materials to bring him. Once the store is built, Timmy and Tommy start working there.

In amiibo Festival

Timmy and Tommy appear as a playable character in the Board Game mode of Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival.

In Pocket Camp

In Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Timmy and Tommy operate the Nookling Global pop-up shop in the Market Place. They sell furniture items that are not available through crafting, and three items are on sale at a time. Tommy appears on the left side of the shop and allows the player to purchase fortune cookies or trade stamps. He also approaches the player when they enter the Market Place if a new fortune cookie is in stock. Timmy appears on the right side of the shop and allows the player to sell items.
