Hi! I'm known as Turtle Lover on most social media platforms, but I call myself TurtleCrossing here just for the heck of it. I'm also on MarioWiki, Bulbapedia, and SmashWiki, although I'm a lot more active on the lattermost.
My knowledge for Animal Crossing all started with Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which heavily represented the series despite it not even having a playable character in that game. While I never intended to get into the series at the time, I did have some curiosity for it, and I even watched a English fandub of the Movie (can't remember who did the dub I watched, though).
Somewhere in 2012 or 2013, I gained this new interest in a little web series called "Happy Tree Friends", and I thought to myself "You know! It'd be pretty funny if I mixed this cute video game series with cute animal people with an internet cartoon that's kinda like it but way more gory. It's a genius plan!". Thinking back at the idea...I regret it. I regret ever coming up with the concept for that...thing. (Fun fact: The fanfic's equivalent to Flippy was a male Villager, and this was LONG before the meme that depicts the Villager in Smash Bros. as a psychopathic serial killer)
Anyway, my real first Animal Crossing experience was with New Leaf in 2013. Ever since I got this game, I instantly became hooked and I wanted to try out other games in the series. My first attempt to try the series' prior installments was by downloading an English patch for the Nintendo 64 game. It was fine at first, but then it started to crash once it hit I believe Day 3. I then downloaded another English patch from a different website, but the same problem occurred, and it even gave my laptop a virus. I have never attempted to download emulators ever again.
My first REAL pre-New Leaf game was City Folk in 2015 (which probably wasn't the best game to start with in hindsight). That same year, I got Happy Home Designer, which was honestly fine for what it was, although it admittedly shouldn't've been $20. In 2018, I got Wild World on the Wii U Virtual Console. I have considered getting the physical copy of the game back in maybe 2014, but apparently you couldn't unlock the final Tom Nook shop upgrade without a friend buying something from the 2nd-to-last upgrade, so I ultimately passed. Thankfully, the VC version removed that awful requirement, so I downloaded it with no problem. However, I haven't played since around early-to-mid 2019 since my Wii U GamePad charge no longer works, so I can't really play it anymore (unless I get a new charger).
Anyway, that's it for my introduction, so here's a little something.
How I Order Villager
Step 1: Order alphabetically
Step 2: Order by species
I generally order species by a "theme". While I could've ordered them based on how biologically related a villager species is to another (such as horses and rhinos being next to each other), I felt it was best to go by much simpler themes. Anyway, here's the order:
- Domesticated Carnivorans: Dogs -> Cats
- Non-Domesticated Carnivorans: Bears -> Cubs -> Wolves -> Lions -> Tigers
- Rodents and Lagomorphs: Mice -> Squirrels -> Hamsters -> Rabbits
- Domesticated Ungulates: Horses -> Cows/Bulls -> Pigs -> Sheep -> Goats
- Non-Domesticated Ungulates: Deer
- Pachyderms: Elephants -> Hippos -> Rhinos
- Other Mammals: Anteaters
- Marsupials: Kangaroos -> Koalas
- Primates: Monkeys -> Gorillas
- Avians: Birds -> Chickens -> Ducks -> Penguins -> Eagles -> Ostriches
- Classes with only one Species: Alligators -> Frogs -> Octopi
Step 3: Order by the villager's game of debut.
The order goes:
- Doubutsu no Mori -> Doubutsu no Mori+/Population Growing -> Doubutsu no Mori e+ -> Wild World -> City Folk -> New Leaf -> Happy Home Designer -> Welcome amiibo -> New Horizons.
Step 4: Order by whether a villager was in Wild World or not
Follows the same axioms as Step 3, but it goes like this:
- Wild World Returnee -> Wild World Newcomer -> City Folk Returnee -> City Folk Newcomer -> New Leaf Returnee -> New Leaf Newcomer -> Happy Home Designer Returnee -> Happy Home Designer Newcomer -> Welcome amiibo Returnee -> Welcome amiibo Newcomer -> New Horizons Returnee -> New Horizons Newcomer
Step 5: Order by the villager's gender
Females go before males.
Step 6: Order by the villager's (current) personality
The order goes:
