Honored Member / Patroller

Hey there - I'm Kevin, one of the directors at Nookipedia. As a thank you for your recent work on New Leaf, you've been granted the status of an honored member - ads will be disabled, and you can brag to all your friends about how awesome you are.

On another note, you've only been here for a little bit, but you've done a great job, and I've noticed you're also experienced on other wikis. If you're interested, I'd like to nominate you to become a member of our staff as a patroller, giving you some useful tools such as patrolling edits, deleting pages, and rollback. Let me know if you'd be interested. Cheers, ~SuperHamster Talk 17:11, 24 April 2013 (EDT)

Not to pester you, but since I haven't heard back from you yet, just wanted to remind you about the offer. If you have any questions, just holler. Thanks! ~SuperHamster Talk 18:03, 6 May 2013 (EDT)
Ah yeah, sorry for taking my time. I've been meaning to get back to you, but got a little caught up with one thing or another in RL this week. Thank you for the feedback and status, that's very, very kind. Sure, I'm interested if it'll help around the place. :) --Dorsal Axe 11:11, 7 May 2013 (EDT)
No problem. Awesome, thanks - I've nominated you. ~SuperHamster Talk 12:55, 7 May 2013 (EDT)
...and now you're Nookipedia's latest patroller. Congrats - I'm sure you'll find the new tools useful =) ~SuperHamster Talk 12:43, 11 May 2013 (EDT)
P.S. Feel free to upload and add a personal image to Nookipedia:Patrollers. ~SuperHamster Talk 12:46, 11 May 2013 (EDT)
Awesome! Thank you very much. I'll have to rummage around for an image or something :p --Dorsal Axe 13:13, 11 May 2013 (EDT)

Patrolling

Hey Dorsal Axe, mlnintendo97 here. Be sure you are patrolling articles on the wiki by using the Special:RecentChanges page. With Animal Crossing: New Leaf coming in less than a week away, there are going to be a lot of edits and it is your responsibility as a Patroller to make sure the edits are not spam, speculation, and anything else that is against wiki policy. -mlnintendo97 14:06, 3 June 2013 (EDT)

Welcome back!

It's surprising to see you editing a bit again. Even though we haven't met, I believe you're a former patroller who hasn't edited, up until now, since July 7, 2013? Anyhow, welcome back! I'm sure you don't know me, but I'm a sysop and a frequent editor here. If you want patroller tools again, you can always ask our directors. Enjoy your stay! :) Mario Signature.png 21:05, April 18, 2015 (EDT)

Hello! Thanks for the welcome (back). At the moment I'm focused on putting together a complete directory of all villagers in the series to date. I probably won't edit too much outside of that at the moment, since it's pretty time consuming. We'll see how it goes :p --Dorsal Axe (talk) 14:31, April 20, 2015 (EDT)
Yes, thank you for for your contributions (past & present!). If you'd like any help compiling the villager list let me know and I would be happy to assist, just let me know where you're sourcing your information so that we can keep it consistent. I'm also curious as to where the list will end up. Will it be replacing the existing list of villagers? If so I think that the ability to sort the table by game makes the current organization method (separate villager lists for each game plus one master list) obsolete. Although I suppose we can discuss what we'll do about that once you finish. Also, the current villager list includes birthdays, are you considering adding those to your list? Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 16:12, April 20, 2015 (EDT)
Please, go right ahead! Any help would be hugely appreciated as it's turned out to be a much more daunting undertaking than I initially expected. At the moment I'm simply lifting information from Nookipedia's own articles on each villager, double-checking anything that doesn't seem right.
Yes, I was thinking of replacing the list of villagers article with the table, since it's much more powerful in terms of organisation. I'm not sure about birthdays at this stage since not every villager has one. Perhaps the separate game lists could contain game-specific information in place of the appearance columns? I guess we'll worry about it later. --Dorsal Axe (talk) 18:15, April 20, 2015 (EDT)
All right then. I have a few suggestions. For personality differences between games, I think you should put a small icon, abbreviation, or asterisk, or extend the personality column. In another note, I might consider working on the table from the bottom-up (starting with Z) in case you don't mind someone else contributing to the table. I'm busy with furniture and real-life things, though, so I hope I can sneak in a edit or two! Mario Signature.png 19:59, April 20, 2015 (EDT)
That would be a great help. Yeah, I'll play around with the width of the columns and see what works best. --Dorsal Axe (talk) 18:46, April 21, 2015 (EDT)

Just wanted to say, awesome job on the table - very well done and organized! I also think it would make a nice replacement for our list, but that's something we can finalize later if need be. ~SuperHamster Talk 21:13, April 20, 2015 (EDT)

Hey, hey! Lookie who's contributing again! Welcome back! Mario Signature.png 18:48, July 26, 2016 (EDT)

Glad to see you back - you've done some great work these past few weeks! :) On another note: back in 2014, you were demoted from Patroller due to inactivity. If you'd like the tools back, just give the word! ~SuperHamster Talk 12:46, August 8, 2016 (EDT)

Thanks. Getting there slowly, heh. I'll politely decline the tools, since I tend to be a edit a bit sporadically, and would probably probably only get demoted again :p --Dorsal Axe (talk) 16:56, August 9, 2016 (EDT)
No problem, and sounds good - just let me know if you change your mind :) ~SuperHamster Talk 21:15, August 9, 2016 (EDT)
Just wanted to praise you for your substantial contributions here! You're a great editor - I particularly liked the Main Street tables you made! I mean, I'd like to show the same level of commitment, but...no. xD Red (talk) Red Snapper WW Sprite.png 11:35, August 13, 2016 (EDT)

Villager data

Thanks for your edits to the list of villagers table. The addition of the HHD column was a nice touch. I have some concerns though as to where you're sourcing your data, especially for the introductory paragraph.

Some months ago, I compiled villager master lists for each game in the Animal Crossing series, and my research conflicts with various figures noted in the introductory paragraph, specifically the amount of villagers in Doubutsu no Mori, as well as the number of villagers introduced in Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk. If you have sources for your information or a villager list you are using I would love to cross-reference our sources. Thanks. Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 17:12, August 13, 2016 (EDT)

A mixture of categories and manual counting, though admittedly I accidentally included special characters in those figures. I think I had a brain kind after editing that damn table. I trust your numbers, and will change it accordingly (and I wish I knew that existed in the first place :P). --Dorsal Axe (talk) 05:10, August 14, 2016 (EDT)
