Hi there

K.K. is the current translation of K.K. Slider in Korean, so please refrain from changing his Korean name back to T.K. It may have been the case in previous games (hence why it is noted in the "Names in other language" section), but it is not the case for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which is the latest game to feature K.K. Slider. -- PanchamBro (talkcontributions) 23:21, February 17, 2022 (EST)

Please refrain from hyperlinking foreign names that may share the same name as an English-named character. Bella does not have any relationship to Isabelle just because Bella's Korean name is Isabelle. -- PanchamBro (talkcontributions) 08:25, March 7, 2022 (EST)

Character Categories on User Page

Hello, you may have noticed that staff members have removed character categories from your user page on more than one occasion. These categories can only be used on villager articles, as they affect the underlying categories and APIs that depend on them. Please do not add them to your user page again. Thank you for your understanding! --Jake (talk) 10:19, February 27, 2022 (EST)

Recent contributions

Some of your edits have been unconstructive. Earlier, you were told by PanchamBro earlier not to hyperlink foreign names that share the same English name, and yet afterwards, you hyperlinked to a villager page in this edit on the K.K. Rockabilly page. You reverted this edit on the Doubutsu no Mori e+ page; not only was it an unconstructive edit, you did so without explanation. While some edits you have contributed have been helpful (like adding Tortimer's Korean name in City Folk), other users and I have had to revert almost all of your other edits, either because they were not necessary or because they were unconstructive. Do not continue making unconstructive edits, or it will be assumed you're not here to contribute positively. HylianAngel (talk) 17:27, March 19, 2022 (EDT)

You have been notified multiple times not to hyperlink foreign names that share the same English name, and you are still doing this, like in this edit. This is not acceptable behavior.

On another note: several times, you have reverted Korean names from their most recent name in New Horizons to their older name in previous games, on K.K. Slider's page, DJ K.K.'s page, random music pages, etc. Do not do this, the page should showcase the most recent name if it is only able to display a single name. If it is able to display multiple names, it is fine to add the name from earlier games in addition to the most recent name, but please stop intentionally removing NH content.

Another note: villagers do not change their furniture in the Animal Crossing games for Nintendo 64 and GameCube. So if they don't have a stereo, they do not have music playing in their house. Also, a live song gift is only accurate for DnMe+, and if they have a stereo. It might not be accurate for DnM, DnM+, or PG, even though usually it's the same. Recent Contributions (Part 2)

  • When possible and appropriate, make sure to capture screenshots using the game's native resolution. You can find the resolution sizes on this page. For example, the recent DnMe+ screenshot you took was (1,317x1,017). In the future, it should be (608x468). Also I noticed one of your previous DnMe+ screenshots had a title bar still attached, make sure you are using the emulator's screenshot hotkey rather than your computer's screenshot feature.
  • Make sure you add a descriptive reason in the "edit summary" field. "As my per edit on Wolfgang's page" is not descriptive, since this might only make sense to a person browsing Special:RecentChanges at the time. For people in the future who look at the "History" section of the page, this description will make no sense to them. Something more appropriate might be "fixed Korean romanization." (I understand that the edit summary of "as per my edit on [[villager]]'s page" might be mimicking User:The Jacketed Terrapin's edit summary on a few pages, but it is incorrect.)
  • After I reverted your edits involving the Korean romanization on villager pages like Wolfgang and Flo, explaining in the edit summary why not to make that type of edit, you added them back again. The romanization matches the system used on list of villager names in other languages, do not make this page contradict villager pages. HylianAngel (talk) 16:34, April 4, 2022 (EDT)

Screenshots

After some consideration, I went ahead and removed your screenshots from the stereo and reaction pages. I mentioned this the other day, but one problem is that the images are considered low-quality according to the image upload policy, because their resolution does not match the internal resolution. (You can change this setting in the Dolphin emulator.) But another bigger problem and the main reason that the images are being removed is that the images are showcasing Japanese text.

In games such as Doubutsu no Mori and Doubutsu no Mori e+, which do not have English counterparts, it is normally acceptable for screenshots to involve Japanese text. The same would likewise apply to Doubutsu no Mori+, whose English counterpart is Animal Crossing. However, the screenshots that you took do not technically need to showcase Japanese at all. If the DnM+ screenshot of the stereo was highlighting a major difference from PG, then it would make sense to keep it. But, it's not necessary, because a PG screenshot would showcase an identical concept involving the stereo's music library. Nookipedia primarily has an English-speaking audience, so screenshots with English text are preferred. And with DnMe+ screenshot of Frett reacting, it would be more ideal to place a PG counterpart of any other villagers reacting. There are many situations where it's possible to screenshot villagers reacting in PG, without involving the DnMe+ calendar in the lower-right corner. So in the future, please keep the image resolution and the text aspects in mind. If a screenshot does not have an appropriate reason to be taken in the Japanese games, it would be better to take them in PG, to showcase the same concept. HylianAngel (talk) 16:04, April 6, 2022 (EDT)

I would like to stress again that your Dolphin screenshots should be at native resolution (Options -> Graphics Settings -> Enhancements -> Internal Resolution -> Native) and that, when it is relevant due to text display, should display English rather than Japanese. PG is the English version of Animal Crossing for GameCube. The screenshot you posted and labeled PG was either Doubutsu no Mori+ (DnM+) or Doubutsu no Mori e+ (DnMe+), not PG. NH starting villager

There are 330 villagers who are neither jock or big sister in New Horizons. If you need help adding this information to that many pages, you should consult an admin or higher, since they have the ability to add this information to many pages automatically using text replace tools. That way you won't need to change 330 different pages one at a time. But the thing is, although this information is notable for all games prior to New Horizons, it's not as notable for New Horizons. As it can be seen, not even the starter villager page lists all 330 villagers for NH, it's not very useful. What it instead notes is all of the jock and big sister villagers, since there are only 83 of them. So there should be a discussion if this prose is necessary to note in every villager's NH section first (if it should be only the jock/big sister pages, or if it should be added on all personalities except jock/big sister), then it can be mass-added with a tool, for consistency purposes. Soleil file upload

I've marked a file you uploaded, File:SSTH01.jpeg, for deletion. Do you have any intention of using it on one of your user pages? If so, we can tag it as a personal upload. Otherwise, it'll have to be deleted as it doesn't belong on Nookipedia. Thanks, Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 10:56, April 15, 2022 (EDT)

Japanese and Korean names

Multiple times (example #1, example #2, example #3, example #4) you have either omitted the Japanese name or prioritized the Korean over a Japanese name. The Korean name usually derives itself from the Japanese name, it's never the other way around. Always prioritize the Japanese name. HylianAngel (talk) 22:36, April 23, 2022 (EDT)

Missing music

Hello, I saw you uploaded some music files from games that don't have them right now. I'm currently working on a consistent, accurate and high quality audio game rip for the remaining games (particularly Animal Crossing). For consistency's sake, we want to use the same gamerip. I know it's annoying the files are missing, but please don't upload random files of these songs because it will make it more difficult once my collections are complete. I appreciate you trying to help fill in the gaps though. Chubby Bub (talk) 01:15, April 30, 2022 (EDT)
