Hi Jake - I was wondering if you could add :Template:Movie screenshot to the list of license options available when a user uploads an image? I put together the templates for the October birthdays, but I can't edit pages in the scehdule namespace. *If you have a general question about wiki policy or editing, it may be better suited for The Roost.
Hey Jake. I recently got honored member status, but there's a little problem...the notice that appeared at the top of the page once I became an honored member read "You are an honored member. As a reward for helping Nookipedia grow and prosper, we are pleased to offer you an ad-free experience until December 31, 1969. Keep up the good work! Click here to dismiss this notice." Special:HonoredMembers still says that honored member status will last until November 21, 2011 for me though, so it's just an issue with the notice by the looks of it. <b>~<i><font color="#07517C">Super</font></i><font color="#6FA23B">Hamster</font></b> <small>Talk</small> 13:33, 22 October 2011 (EDT)

*If you need to report an issue with another editor or request a username change, please see the Staff Noticeboard.
:That's pretty odd, and I just tested this and it's not happening to me. I know all dates in Unix are made relative to 12/31/1969, but there's no reason for the site to display that to you instead of the real date. I've just un-dismissed your notice, so could you please tell me if it's still happening? Thanks! :) --<span style="color:#008000;font-weight:bold;">Ja</span><span style="color:#E58900;font-weight:bold;">ke</span> 15:02, 22 October 2011 (EDT)

::::I just got the weird date in the Honored Member notice, and I recall getting it the first time, too. It only happened the first time the notice appeared; when I went to another page the date corrected itself. <span style="font-family:Candara; font-size:120%; text-shadow:0px 0px 3px rgba(70,130,180,.8)"><font color="#4682B4">-Sky</font> <small><font color="#4682B4">(talk)</font></small></span>  20:20, 9 November 2011 (EST)

:::::Interesting. My best guess would be that the server is trying to cache the notice without realizing that the date is dynamic. I'll look into possible fixes, but it's not a very big issue. ==Hi-ho, this is Gooptek!==

Thanks for helping me, I'm not very good at images... Also, it's good to know that there are Earthbound fans here... Hey, how did you managed to place that Pierce photo onto the "Favorite Villager" Userbox¿

:No problem! Welcome to Nookipedia! To put an image into the villager info box, you just add this argument:

::Actually, I just checked my game and I'm on chapter 5. Well, I've managed to defeat the Beaten Drum  and the Gently Sweeping Guitar with a few PSI LOVE α, but the Jealous Bass keeps rockin' me with his Music Jam attack and his insane offense boost! I've read that I have to use Pencil Rockets with Boney, but they're very pricy, and they're sold at a shop wich lies at the entrance to the attic, a hard-to-reach place once you've explored it deep!--Gooptek 21:20, 11 November 2011 (EST)

:Yeah, I think I remember using a few Pencil Rockets on him. I just found this YouTube video which may provide some tips on how to beat him. Hope that helps! :) --<span style="color:#008000;font-weight:bold;">Ja</span><span style="color:#E58900;font-weight:bold;">ke</span> 21:30, 11 November 2011 (EST)

Hello! Sorry for taking too long to post the result. He defeated me so fast, I could barely use a Sprinting Bomb... Well, I think that's because I'm level 12 with both Lucas and Boney, so that means that I only need to get to level 19 or so to defeat it. But it's so hard even to level up there at the attic, with all of the strong enemies... Also, what is that (EST) that you place at the end of every "comment"¿ (Oh, and thanks for the video! I've seen that, after the battle, the person that was playing leveled up to level 20. Now I know at wich level I need to be!)--Gooptek 12:29, 17 November 2011 (EST)

:No problem! And yeah, it always helps to spend some time grinding some levels. I always like to be at a slightly higher level than normal for boss fights. And the (EST) following most time stamps refers to the Eastern Time Zone, which is the time zone our website follows. --<span style="color:#008000;font-weight:bold;">Ja</span><span style="color:#E58900;font-weight:bold;">ke</span> 15:03, 17 November 2011 (EST)

Hey! Sorry for taking too long to answer. There's no good news... they're INCREDIBLE news! Now, I've rocked him with a few PK Rockin' α (also known as PK LOVE α) and some pencil rockets! And nobody in my party got defeated! Thank you for helping me find the level that I've needed to be to beat him!--Gooptek 21:26, 26 November 2011 (EST)

:No problem! And that's great! I really should start playing Mother 3 again soon, or at least start editing at Wikibound. --<span style="color:#008000;font-weight:bold;">Ja</span><span style="color:#E58900;font-weight:bold;">ke</span> 22:08, 26 November 2011 (EST)

This will probably stick out on a page of complaints and glitches, but... do you play AC: CF? Becuase I do, and none of my friends do, and you're the only other on on the wiki right now, and.... I'M SOOOOO LLLLLOOOONNNLYYYYYY!!!!! WAAAH!  =*( Spongeabc5

I'm no time traveller!!!
I signed in to the Wiki yesterday to find that it said Jingle was delivering presents!!! It is supposed to be today, not YESTERDAY!!! Otherwise, I would have missed out! My Wii (my gate to the internet) was on the correct date, what happened???

Spongeabc5 22:29, 24 December 2011 (EST) (The "Let's be friends!" kid)

:So you're saying that the Jingle noticed appeared on both the 23rd and 24th? --<span style="color:#008000;font-weight:bold;">Ja</span><span style="color:#E58900;font-weight:bold;">ke</span> 09:20, 25 December 2011 (EST)

Yes, on the 23rd, it said "Hey, everybody! Jingle comes to town tonight!" and on the 24th it said, "Happy Holidays, Everyone!"

P.S. I'm not sure if this helps or not, but when I was bored, I started to look around at in-game events, and the table under the picture for Toy day said that it occurs on the 23rd. ????? Just in case it helps, I edited it to say "December 23rd (24th in City Folk)" Spongeabc5 17:15, 27 December 2011 (EST)

:Actually, I just looked it up and Toy Day does occur on the 23rd in every game except City Folk. So I guess that's why the notice is displayed on both days. I've edited the notice for the 23rd to make it more apparent that it's only for AC:GC. :) --<span style="color:#008000;font-weight:bold;">Ja</span><span style="color:#E58900;font-weight:bold;">ke</span> 10:21, 28 December 2011 (EST)

Chat?
Should there be some sort of chat on the wiki? And maybe even a bulletin system? I mean, so people can exchange friend codes and make bulletins of where things are buried in their town, maybe? Just an idea.

:Yeah, we'd definitely like to add something like that to the wiki at some point. We've got a ton of new features planned for this year. For now though, the forums are probably the best place to exchange friend codes. --<span style="color:#008000;font-weight:bold;">Ja</span><span style="color:#E58900;font-weight:bold;">ke</span> 12:24, 14 January 2012 (EST)

Editor Categories
Along with the userboxes saying what rank/kind of editor you are, should we have a category embedded in the userboxes? --<span style="color:#800000">MarioStrikerz</span><font COLOR="#330099">Talk</font> 16:46, 14 January 2012 (EST)

:I'm not Jake, but in my opinion they aren't necessary.  There are twenty edit count userboxes, which means twenty added categories, and many of them will have very few or no users in them. Of course, that's not as bad as all the "fan of ___" categories, but these types of categories seem like they could be more divisive between members than people grouping based on where they're from or what they like. <span style="font-family:Candara; font-size:120%; text-shadow:0px 0px 3px rgba(70,130,180,.8)"><font color="#4682B4">-Sky</font> <small><font color="#4682B4">(talk)</font></small></span>  17:09, 14 January 2012 (EST)

:Yeah, I have to agree. Categories that just keep track of user lists aren't very helpful at all. I actually think we should start removing them, as most aren't even used. --<span style="color:#008000;font-weight:bold;">Ja</span><span style="color:#E58900;font-weight:bold;">ke</span> 10:17, 15 January 2012 (EST)

::I agree with Jake. I would actually propose a revamp of userboxes with the style being Template:UBPierce Fans or Template:UBAdministrator so the userbox templates do not get mixed up with the real templates.

:Hiya! Sorry for arriving 8 years late to the party, but your 13 y/o rule is in compliance with U.S. law, which does indicate that you have to be 13. But is it only to comply those? Because in some European countries, laws like the one recently passed in France stipulate that you have to be 15 or older for that. So I guess you'd have to ask for a specific country to be in copliance with (almost) all those types of law?

Hello, I would like to know what "Final nookphone" means on villager pages, I know I am supposed to ask on the discord but I cannot enter the discord because I am underage. Thank you, LibbyOcto (talk) 11:39, March 15, 2023 (EDT)
 +
:Hey there! Normally this would be explained on the NookPhone page, and I do have an outline for this information in my sandbox. The only reason this information hasn't been implemented yet is because it will take a lot of time/manpower to actually finish creating the related table that showcases all of the villager NookPhone designs. I can still explain it here for you.
 +
 +
:The customizable phone case kit item allows the player to customize their phone to one of eight default customization patterns: Green, Red, Pink, Black, White, Blue, Yellow, and Beige. They can also use it to customize their phone into one of any of the default Sable designs. The player does not immediately learn these designs, but they slowly collect them from Sable if they talk to her each day after befriending her. These Sable designs can also be used to customize certain furniture items, not just their NookPhone.
 +
 +
:Villagers wandering around outside will randomly take out their phone to browse it before putting it away, and sometimes they bring it out to take a photo of certain furniture placed outside. (You can also force them to take out their phone at Photopia via the "Take a Picture" Reaction at Photopia.)
 +
 +
:Like the customizable phone case kit, villager phones will initially be one of the eight default customization patterns. If the player has not learned any Sable designs, villagers will continue to use the default customization patterns. However, once the player learns the Sable design category, then villagers of that applicable category will upgrade their NookPhone. For example, if a villager's "final NookPhone" comes from the "Retro" category, they will upgrade their phone as soon as the player learns the "Retro" category of Sable designs. There are some villagers/special characters who have no upgraded NookPhone though, and they just continue using one of the eight default customization patterns forever.
 +
 +
:There's another layer of complexity. I was watching video footage of my friend design a villager's house request in short, a villager he did not have in his town. My friend owns all Sable patterns. However, during the house completion sequence, where they show the villager enjoying the house, this villager actually pulled out a NookPhone using one of the eight default customization patterns. So the villager was actually using their "initial NookPhone" rather than their "final NookPhone." Whether this is because of a special ruleset involving short itself, or because it is a villager who does not live in my friend's town, I'm not entirely sure.
 +
 +
:Also, all special characters are assigned an "initial NookPhone" that is one of the eight default customization patterns, but this might actually be purely internal. No one has conducted research in their early game to report if special characters actually use these or not. The constraints would be someone who hasn't befriend Sable and then summons the special characters at Photopia to check their NookPhones via the "Take a Picture" Reaction, but almost all players have all Sable patterns already. Either way, articles list the "initial NookPhone" data anyways, since it's interesting information and the colors usually relate to the special character somehow. (Like how Celeste's "initial NookPhone" is "Pink" to match her pink bow. Though again, this might be purely placeholder data that is unused, but no one really knows for sure.) == Question about PC App Icon 1.0.0.png origin ==

 +
Hello! I've recently been looking into the history of Pocket Camp's app icons and I was wondering something about this image: :File:PC App Icon 1.0.0.png. In my digging I've only encountered a link to the full-square (i.e. without rounded corners) 1,024 × 1,024 version of this image in the page source of the Pocket Camp page in the App Store from 2017/2018 (using the Wayback Machine). However, in 2021 on the :File:PC App Icon 1.0.0.png page the source got listed as 'Nintendo of America', and I read in Discord that in October 2017 you got a press package from the press site. I also noticed that some gaming news sites used the image as well in their articles around that time. So out of curiosity I was wondering if you happen to remember if this image was included in that press package or if you got it somewhere else.

Hi Jake. A few days ago I was surveying on villagers articles around here (I remembered clicking like, 3-5 pages or so simultaneously that time), and when I viewed one of them, specifically Twiggy's, for some reason I got the prompt of Database Error, even though when I refreshed the page, the prompt is gone. And this is my first time encountering such error in Nookipedia, too (not counting stuffs during the backup period). I was wondering if this error is minor thing, and is the server alright and all. I did bring this up to Drago here hours after that error, but he told me you might know something about it. Can you explain? Age limit[edit]

Is there an age limit for the bulletin board forums? --Pachisu123 (talk) 19:46, October 22, 2015 (EDT)

Hi! Unfortunately due to U.S. law, we do have to make the age requirement 13 years old. Sorry about that! --Jake 08:46, October 23, 2015 (EDT)

But why does the wiki have no age limit? I don't understand!

--Pachisu123 (talk) 17:55, October 24, 2015 (EDT)

The wiki doesn't have an age requirement because we don't directly ask for any personal information from minors, whereas the nature of a forum encourages the sharing of personal information and requires an email address to sign up. The wiki signup page terms of agreement (included below) state that those under 13 cannot provide a real name or email address for their account, which allows us to remain complaint with US Law while still allowing minors to create accounts.
Already have an account? Log in. Please note that duplicate accounts are not allowed, and these may be blocked from editing.

Please note: Email address and real name may only be provided by those age 13 and older pursuant to United States Law.

Those under age 13 are still welcome to create an account and may contribute to the wiki without restriction, but may not add an email or real name to their account until their 13th birthday.

--Jake 16:23, October 25, 2015 (EDT)

Why does the forum require email but not wiki?

--Pachisu123 (talk) 19:30, October 25, 2015 (EDT)

Posting on the forum is a more social environment, and as such, involves a certain level of accountability. Collecting an email address allows us to increase the barrier of registration to prevent spam accounts and allow us to keep the site family friendly. The wiki is more of a collaborative environment than a social one, is a lot easier to monitor, and has more staff members. A while back it was decided that we would not require emails on the wiki even though it could lead to an increase in spam, in order to allow younger users like yourself to register under the above terms. If you truly want to create an account on the forums, I can provide you with a form which your parents would need to fill out and fax in to us. However, this is probably more trouble than it's worth since the forums really aren't very active thse days anyway. --Jake 20:33, October 25, 2015 (EDT)

Hiya!

Sockpuppets[edit]

What do you do when you find out that someone created a sock puppet account used to pretend to be someone else?

--Pachisu123 (talk) 18:24, October 26, 2015 (EDT)

We generally block the sockpuppet account and post an informal reminder or an official warning on sockpuppeting depending on the severity of it. The "sockpuppet" can technically be a sibling, however, so we give benefit of the doubt before acting upon the sockpuppet and the original accounts. Mario Signature.png 20:50, October 26, 2015 (EDT)

miiverse[edit]

Do you have a Miiverse?

--Pachisu123 (talk) 16:57, November 22, 2015 (EST)

I think I technically have one, but I don't use it or know my username. --Jake 12:06, December 6, 2015 (EST)

Permanent Username change[edit]

If the Username Princess Peach doesn't exist I'll take it! TabuuandRover (talk) 22:51, April 26, 2016 (EDT)

Hey TabuuandRover. The username Princess Peach is not yet taken, however, username changes are only available one time per six months. You will become eligible for another username change on October 3rd, 2016. Sorry about that. --Jake 19:18, April 28, 2016 (EDT)
Since we don't have any info about renaming on the wiki, including the "six month rule", do you think we should add this to one of our Nookipedia namespace pages? If you'd like, I could create a thread on the forums about it. Cheers, Red (talk) Red Snapper WW Sprite.png 12:56, April 29, 2016 (EDT)
Yes. I definitely think we should add this somewhere, perhaps on NP:Policy? TabuuandRover - I didn't realize that this policy was not clearly outlined on the wiki itself, and so I'll allow a second username change to Princess Peach if you still want to go through with it. :) --Jake 13:26, April 29, 2016 (EDT)
I'd go with adding a 13th header about user renames on NP:Policy, while possibly mentioning it on NP:Users and/or NP:Bureaucrats. The only time I've seen the "six month rule" being used or mentioned is in your rename summaries. Red (talk) Red Snapper WW Sprite.png 13:33, April 29, 2016 (EDT)

Hmm.. I have been renamed on other NIWA accounts, also on Mario Wiki they allow only 2 renames per year, I got renamed 3 days after I first was there, then about a month, then they said that I couldn't get a rename until April of next year, and plus on top of that, im becoming inactive from October 2nd until the first of January. I will be touring China during that time before returning to Israel. So im sorry for the inconvenience this causes. P.S. make sure nobody gets that username. TabuuandRover (talk) 21:24, April 29, 2016 (EDT)

Each NIWA Wiki is managed independently, so the policies of other wikis do not necessarily carry over to Nookipedia. If you would like to have your name changed to Princess Peach, just let me know and I'd be happy to do it. --Jake 23:23, April 29, 2016 (EDT)

Ich bin mir sicher, wollen mein Name zu sein! (I sure do want my name to be that!) sorry, my German is coming out. But with the rename, sure! TabuuandRover (talk) 10:17, April 30, 2016 (EDT)

Done. --Jake 19:21, April 30, 2016 (EDT)

Question about forum[edit]

When you set a forum post to staff only, only staff members can view it. But if I become patroller, will I be able to look at staff-only posts or do I need an account on the forum, which I don't have?

--Pachisu123 (talk) 21:13, May 8, 2016 (EDT)

You will be able to access the staff-only forum once you're promoted. Of course, you need an account in the forum first so we can give you the permission to view the forums. Mario Signature.png 21:15, May 8, 2016 (EDT)
This is correct, but to be honest there's really not a whole lot going on in the staff forums. --Jake 15:30, May 9, 2016 (EDT)

A question[edit]

Despite my withdraw, is okay for me to promote somebody else for staff or promote a staff member that is lower than a bureaucrat to a higher level? Mario und Prinzessin Peach.jpg Princess Peach Bulborb Buffet.jpg 14:22, May 12, 2016 (EDT)

Only bureaucrats and directors can promote someone directly, but you can nominate someone else to be a staff member. You must get their permission, though. Red (talk) Red Snapper WW Sprite.png 14:36, May 12, 2016 (EDT)

Category help[edit]

I would like to create a new category: Fans of Star Trek. Unfortunately I don't know how. If we work on it together you could join as a gift for creating it or helping me creating it. Mario und Prinzessin Peach.jpg Princess Peach Bulborb Buffet.jpg 14:15, May 31, 2016 (EDT)

Sure. Just type "Category:Fans of Star Trek" into the search bar and press enter. Then click the link that says create this page and you should be able to start the page. Let me know if you have any other questions. --Jake 18:23, May 31, 2016 (EDT)

E3[edit]

Has E3 ended? If so, is this a good time to take the sitenotice down? Red (talk) Red Snapper WW Sprite.png 12:50, June 16, 2016 (EDT)

E3 is over but I wanted to leave it up because the linked page still outlines some of the upcoming games. I think we should take it down at the end of the day. --Jake 13:05, June 16, 2016 (EDT)

Add new right to autoconfirmed users[edit]

Howdy Jake! I was going to create a new Userbox here, but it's from an external source. Can you please add allow autocomfirmed users. Many NIWA wikis and even our Wikia rival does that. I don't want our rival to have advantage of us. Also it would be great if we had posts from Miiverse about New Leaf that's helpful. Thanks! Mario und Prinzessin Peach.jpg Princess Peach Bulborb Buffet.jpg 12:32, August 3, 2016 (EDT)

I'm not sure I understand what right you are requesting. Which userbox are you trying to create? You should be able to copy over the wikicode from the other site (with attribution) and modify it to work on our site. --Jake 15:35, August 4, 2016 (EDT)

It's like from a URL. and im autoconfirmed the right that im requesting oto Upload files from URLS and our Wikia rival does that, so does many NIWA wikis. I think you can do it. And for Userboxes I was going to do one with Dave Schwartz. It's from Weather.com some of them images there inspired me to create a few new categories and userboxes since I know stuff about categories I know what to do. And uploading an image from a URL is much less complicated. Mario und Prinzessin Peach.jpg Princess Peach Bulborb Buffet.jpg 16:22, August 4, 2016 (EDT)

By the way the right im requesting is included in the Bot group and it is Uploading images from a URL. Mario und Prinzessin Peach.jpg Princess Peach Bulborb Buffet.jpg 16:24, August 4, 2016 (EDT)
Ok, it's enabled now. --Jake 16:30, August 4, 2016 (EDT)

ZCJigglypuff[edit]

Hey there Jake! I have a complaint on ZCJigglypuff. The complaint is that the person deleted my custom made userbox and the image along with it. If you can restore them that will be great. And I created the userbox like a patroller did with the piano. I think that's harmful and I was going to let you have the Userbox before ZCJigglypuff deleted it. Thanks! Mario und Prinzessin Peach.jpg Princess Peach Bulborb Buffet.jpg 14:57, August 7, 2016 (EDT) Never mind Jake, we are comprimising. Mario und Prinzessin Peach.jpg Princess Peach Bulborb Buffet.jpg 19:48, August 7, 2016 (EDT)

Glad to hear it! Thanks, ZCJigglypuff, for handling this well and working on a compromise. :) --Jake 21:40, August 7, 2016 (EDT)

Bot[edit]

Bot hasn't done anything since 2015 is okay for me to mark it as inactive? Mario und Prinzessin Peach.jpg Princess Peach Bulborb Buffet.jpg 19:29, September 28, 2016 (EDT)

Well[edit]

Since Amiibos are merchandise, im putting it in the merchandise category, the template and the merchandise page im wondering if that would be helpful. Mario und Prinzessin Peach.jpg Princess Peach Bulborb Buffet.jpg 20:16, November 17, 2016 (EST)

I would ask over at the Community Fountain so that other editors can weigh in on this. --Jake 09:40, November 18, 2016 (EST)

Thank you for the warm welcome[edit]

I just wanted to thank you for the short message you left on my user page. Positive reinforcement is long lost on a lot of game wikis these days. Kudos to you, sir! --NibKing (talk) 00:42, March 13, 2017 (EDT)

Quick question, if you don't mind?[edit]

Um what's the code for the infobox that you've currently got on your Talkpage? Kandi (talk) 13:27, December 6, 2017 (EST)

That would be Template:Infobox User :) ~PoizonMushro0mPoizonMush Sig.png 04:34, December 7, 2017 (EST)

Quick Question[edit]

Just asking or maybe not :] what rank (if any) do you have to be to nominate someone to any rank? Please, if you can, respond accordingly for each rank (including Director, if you can nominate someone to that level) for at which rank you have to be to nominate someone to be that level? Thanks :] - unsigned comment from Zucker2008 (talkcontribs)

Anyone can nominate anyone for any position (with the nominee’s permission first), however by convention people are only nominated for the next highest position as those nominations are more likely to be successful. Director is a leadership role and is by appointment only. There are other roles such as Cargo Technician, Trustee, Bot, and Interface Administrator which are also not eligible for nomination. --Jake (talk) 10:21, June 14, 2021 (EDT)
Thanks! --Zucker2008Zucker NH.png 09:24, June 15, 2021 (BST)

Keaton[edit]

I found that it says on Keaton's page that he can't be one of the starting villagers in your Animal Crossing: New Leaf town, but I had him as one of my starting villagers. Is this an error, or am I just deluded? --Zucker2008 10:15, June 25, 2021 (BST)

I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to answer that on my own. The best course of action would be to open a discussion on Keaton’s talk page so that your experience can be documented. This will give editors something to look out for in the future, as we’d probably need more than one person’s experience to make that change. --Jake (talk) 12:06, June 25, 2021 (EDT)
Smug and big sister villagers can't be starting villagers on day 1 in New Leaf, they always move in later on. HylianAngel (talk) 19:12, June 25, 2021 (EDT)
Well there we go! Hope this answers your question, Zucker2008. --Jake (talk) 21:22, June 25, 2021 (EDT)

-Okay, I must just have had him move in later on and thought he was one of my starting villagers. Thanks, --Zucker

Account Deletion[edit]

Hello, Sorry to bother you. Please could you delete my account for me? I wasn’t sure who to contact and I have been trying to find out how to do this myself; however, I had no luck. Thank you for your time, stay safe ^_^. - unsigned comment from MLBfan (talkcontribs)

It's not possible unfortunately. If you don't want to edit here anymore, that's absolutely fine, but your account will always continue to exist. Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 14:05, September 7, 2021 (EDT)

Mainspace?[edit]

What is mainspace? I’ve seen it mentioned on occasion, but I don’t know what it is. Moo Moo Meadows 12:30, December 23, 2021 (EST)

Hello, welcome to the site! That would be any page that does not have an associated prefix. For example, a page titled “Template:Tom Nook” would be in the “Template” namespace but a page titled “Tom Nook” without any prefix is in the mainspace. --Jake (talk) 17:35, December 23, 2021 (EST)

Help, I know this might be better suited asking somewhere else[edit]

Hello, I would like to know what "Final nookphone" means on villager pages, I know I am supposed to ask on the discord but I cannot enter the discord because I am underage. Thank you, LibbyOcto (talk) 11:39, March 15, 2023 (EDT)

Hey there!
The customizable phone case kit item allows the player to customize their phone to one of eight default customization patterns: Green, Red, Pink, Black, White, Blue, Yellow, and Beige. They can also use it to customize their phone into one of any of the default Sable designs. The player does not immediately learn these designs, but they slowly collect them from Sable if they talk to her each day after befriending her. These Sable designs can also be used to customize certain furniture items, not just their NookPhone.
Villagers wandering around outside will randomly take out their phone to browse it before putting it away, and sometimes they bring it out to take a photo of certain furniture placed outside. (You can also force them to take out their phone at Photopia via the "Take a Picture" Reaction at Photopia.)
Like the customizable phone case kit, villager phones will initially be one of the eight default customization patterns.
There's another layer of complexity. I was watching video footage of my friend design a villager's house request in Happy Home Paradise, a villager he did not have in his town. My friend owns all Sable patterns. However, during the house completion sequence, where they show the villager enjoying the house, this villager actually pulled out a NookPhone using one of the eight default customization patterns. So the villager was actually using their "initial NookPhone" rather than their "final NookPhone." Whether this is because of a special ruleset involving Happy Home Paradise itself, or because it is a villager who does not live in my friend's town, I'm not entirely sure.
Also, all special characters are assigned an "initial NookPhone" that is one of the eight default customization patterns, but this might actually be purely internal. Though again, this might be purely placeholder data that is unused, but no one really knows for sure.) Question about PC App Icon 1.0.0.png origin[edit]

Hello! I've recently been looking into the history of Pocket Camp's app icons and I was wondering something about this image: File:PC App Icon 1.0.0.png. In my digging I've only encountered a link to the full-square (i.e. without rounded corners) 1,024 × 1,024 version of this image in the page source of the Pocket Camp page in the App Store from 2017/2018 (using the Wayback Machine). However, in 2021 on the File:PC App Icon 1.0.0.png page the source got listed as 'Nintendo of America', and I read in Discord that in October 2017 you got a press package from the press site. I also noticed that some gaming news sites used the image as well in their articles around that time. So out of curiosity I was wondering if you happen to remember if this image was included in that press package or if you got it somewhere else.

Thanks! --Bassieeee (talk) 10:29, July 12, 2023 (EDT)

A rare Database Error notice[edit]

Thanks. Starry Windy 09:09, August 20, 2023 (EDT)

Looks like I've caught another one, this time when loading Toby's page. This time, I found it say... [0bace38f2b583b267a500be9] 2023-08-27 16:29:09: Fatal exception of type "Wikimedia\Rdbms\DBQueryError" Starry Windy 12:32, August 27, 2023 (EDT)
