Wii Speak is an add-on accessory to the Wii. It allows players to voice chat with others, especially during online play. The accessory came with Wii Speak Channel, a channel that allow an unlimited number of users to chat in four different rooms. Wii Speak is compatible with Animal Crossing: City Folk, where it was one of the many ways people could communicate with each other while visiting other players' towns.

It was released in North America on November 16, 2008 and in Europe on December 5, 2008, the same day that City Folk was released.[1] A bundle containing a Wii Speak and City Folk was released on the same day, retailing for $69.99.[2]
