"Hi, my name's Yu, I come from the nearby town, but I like to play here a lot."
— Yu, 🎬 Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori

Template:Infobox MovieCh Yu is one of the main characters in 🎬 Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori, being the only male human. He is first seen when Ai was delivering a package to Halberd (Alfonso). Yu is widely known because he changes his outfit daily, and, until the last part of the movie, never shows his true face. He may be a reference on how in the Animal Crossing series games, a person could connect through Wi-Fi, so players from other towns can come visit their town. He does not live in Animal Village, but visits often, shown by his first conversation with Ai, "Hi, my name's Yu, I come from the nearby town, but I like to play here a lot." Since his town only gets a brief mention, it is possible that his town is the infamous Boondox.

Trivia

  • Yu's name in Japanese means "evening".
  • If Yu's Japanese name is combined with Ai's Japanese name, "Love", it would make "Evening Love".
  • Ai and Yu's names might be a pun on the words "you and I."
  • Yu's voice actor, Yū Kobayashi, shares the same name as him.
  • Yu's voice actor is also female.
