Zucker is a lazy octopus villager in the Animal Crossing series. He first appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and was one of the first new villagers announced for that game. His English name comes from ‘sucker,’ like those found on an octopus's tentacles, while his Japanese name and overall appearance refer to takoyaki, a popular Japanese food made with octopus. Zucker shares his catchphrase with Bertha, a normal hippo villager.

Characteristics

Appearance

Zucker's appearance is based on a takoyaki ball. He is a creamy yellow-colored octopus with salmon-colored accents on his snout and tentacles. He has brown hair on the top of his head representing takoyaki sauce, and three green freckles on each of his cheeks representing seaweed, which is also a popular takoyaki topping. He also has what appears to be a small wooden stick sticking out of his head, as takoyaki is frequently eaten using chopsticks. His eyes are small, black ovals.

Zucker has the lazy personality, meaning he loves eating and sleeping, and will talk about food and sleeping with the player. He also is very relaxed due to the fact that he loves sleeping. He will enjoy the usual hobbies such as fishing and bug catching. He will get along with peppy and normal villagers, but will offend jock, snooty, and cranky villagers, although cranky villagers will admire his laid-back lifestyle. He will wake up at 9:00 a.m. and falls asleep at 11:00 p.m.
