Profile
Bud used to live in town. He had to move, because he was so laid-back he made the other animals look like workaholics. He has a keen eye, though, and he isn't afraid to speak his mind. His main interest? Surfing!

045 Bud is a Series 1 Animal Crossing-e Character Card. It can be scanned in Animal Crossing at the e-Reader Transfer Machine in the post office to receive a letter and gift from Bud, or on the Game Boy Advance by itself to display a different letter. The password on the card can also be sent in a letter to receive a letter and gift.

Scanning in Animal Crossing[edit]

Scanning this card at the e-Reader Transfer Machine in the post office causes Bud to immediately send the player a letter that contains an ebony piano. The letter reads:

Surf's up, <player>!
Hey, hey! Are you still goin'
mad runnin' errands for those
lazy animals in town? Hey,
dood, I just call it like I see
it! You gotta relax and take
life one errand at a time!

Your bud, Bud

Mailing the password[edit]

Typing the password printed on the card into a letter and mailing it to any villager causes Bud to send the player a letter that contains a djimbe drum after two more days of playing. The letter reads:

My bud <player>,
Whoa! What's up? Get
things squared away so
you can come hang out
with me and enjoy some
reggae! It'll
be awesome, dood!

Live the good life! ーBud

Scanning on the Game Boy Advance[edit]

Scanning this card while the Game Boy Advance is not connected to Animal Crossing displays the following message from Bud:

What is UP, dood?
You staying cool?
Me, I'm feeling as
cool as can be.
Wanna know why?
Cause of these
shades! Look at
these bad boys!
They're magic, man,
I'm telling you.
They make the sun
seem...less bright.
