Camper Card
Camper Cards are a gameplay feature in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete. This feature acts as a replacement for the friend system of the original Pocket Camp. Players are able to customize their own digital card and collect the cards of up to 100 other players. Collecting Camper Cards by scanning applicable QR codes generates facsimiles of players and their camp caretakers to appear at Whistle Pass.
The Camper Cards feature is accessible via the menu option labeled "Cards" in the lower-right corner of the main HUD.
Usage[edit]
Each new day, Whistle Pass fills with up to 8 random friends, who are NPC player characters based on the player's collection of Camper Cards. They are accompanied by their camp caretaker if their card displays one, though duplicates of caretakers, due to multiple players owning the same one, do not show up at Whistle Pass. The player interacts with their friends to receive help in traveling to Shovelstrike Quarry, up to two trips per day, and to receive a batch of gifts, once per day.
The player may need to interact with a particular friend multiple times in a row before they can ask them for help traveling to Shovelstrike Quarry. Each friend can only help one time per day, and there is a small chance that the friend can deny help due to being "busy." The player can travel to the quarry after receiving help from 3 different friends.
Once per day, one of the friends at random upon the first interaction will give the player a batch of several gifts, with a furniture as the main gift, and potentially items such as fortune cookies, friend powder, and stickers as supplementary gifts. One of the supplementary gifts is an animal sticker that matches the camp caretaker associated with the Camper Card of the NPC player.
Friends may also assist the player by an occasional automated process of sharing their garden event creatures on empty flowers in the player's garden.
Collecting[edit]
The player owns their 1 personal Camper Card and can register up to 100 user-generated Camper Cards. While the player is in the "Camper Cards" menu, they can tap the QR code symbol in the lower-right corner of the HUD to activate their smart device's camera feature. From there, they can either align their smart device's camera with an applicable QR code, or they can tap the "Images" button to use the QR code of an image saved to their smart device's storage in order to register another player's Camper Card.
If the player attempts to scan their own Camper Card, they receive a notification preventing them from registering it. When the Camper Card of an existing player in their collection is detected during a scan, the player is prompted to overwrite the existing card or cancel. If the Camper Card includes a custom design, the player is prompted to log into their Nintendo Account before they can register the card.
The player may delete any Camper Card at their disposal.
Sharing[edit]
The player may share their own Camper Card by tapping "Save" in the card editing screen to save their card to their smart device, then by sharing the image containing the QR code with other people.
Design[edit]
The Camper Card is composed of 6 major components: the card color, the character pose, the player's appearance, the player's name, the player's level, and optionally the appearance of the camp caretaker.
The player's appearance, player's name, and camp caretaker's appearance cannot be customized within the card editing screen and must be altered prior to editing. It is optional to have the camp caretaker present, and similarly their presence can only be altered prior to editing the card; they can be added or removed via the animal icon in the lower-right corner of the player's map.
The player's level is not customizable and matches that of the player's current friendship level. Preceding the number is "Lv." for English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, "Niv." for French, "Nivel" for Spanish, and "Liv." for Italian. This preceding label is client-side, so although it affects the appearance of the text on the sharable card image, the player who scans it will see the label for their corresponding language in-game.
The player is able to freely customize the card color and character pose from available presets during card editing. The 8 color presets are orange, pink, light green, green, brown, red, purple, and blue. There are 14 pose presets, which determine the pose of the player character and the camp caretaker character. If the player is alone, they are positioned in the center of the card. If the camp caretaker is present, then the player is on the left and the camp caretaker is on the right. The camp caretaker either mirrors or complements the player's pose.
A preexisting card does not automatically update to reflect changes to the player's appearance, the player's name, the camp caretaker's appearance, or the player's level, so the card must be manually updated to match any new changes.
