A canyon is a fan-named area of a town, appearing in Animal Crossing: City Folk, in which the cliff nearly touches the town's wall-like cliff. There are four types of canyons.

A Pseudo-canyon in Animal Crossing: City Folk

True canyon[edit]

Up to four tiles wide, the true canyon can be accessed from both ends and can be freely traveled through. There is a ramp at one end of the canyon.

This canyon is like the true canyon, in that it is up to four squares wide, but it is one way, and can only be accessed from the south.

Wide canyon[edit]

The wide canyon is a canyon which is up to 7 squares in width. It can be accesed from both sides.

Reverse canyon[edit]

Similar to the pseudo-canyon and true canyon, but accessed from the north rather than the south.
