Group stretching, known as morning aerobics prior to New Horizons, is a fitness activity in the Animal Crossing series. It appears in the first-generation games as a regular event, as well as being an event in the Sports Fair. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, beginning in version 2.0, group stretching can be started by the player anytime in the plaza.
In Doubutsu no Mori
Radio calisthenics appears in Doubutsu no Mori as a daily event each morning at the shrine from July 25 to August 31. Tortimer is not present, and the player is unable to join in on the exercise. It lasts from 6:00 to 7:00 AM.
In Animal Crossing and Doubutsu no Mori e+
In Doubutsu no Mori+ and Animal Crossing, each morning before 7:00 AM from July 25 to August 31, Copper will conduct morning aerobics at the wishing well with four other villagers. After receiving an exercise card from Tortimer during the event, the player can start accumulating stamps by speaking with him on subsequent days. If a player gets the card stamped at fourteen morning aerobics sessions, Tortimer will reward them with an aerobics radio, which enables the player to perform the exercises at home. The villagers participating will also periodically go off-sync with the group and will panic shortly after. In Doubutsu no Mori e+, an Easter egg was added where if the player repeatedly presses the start button, it will cause the other villagers to panic.
Morning aerobics will not occur if it the weather is rainy, or if the save file is loaded on or after 6:55 AM.
All exercises use the C Stick.

In New Horizons
Group stretching was added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the 2.0 Free Update. The player can start group stretching by interacting with a special tape deck in the plaza outside Resident Services. The Tape Deck will move around during special holidays for the player to interact, though it cannot appear during the Countdown. During group stretching, both villagers and special characters will participate, and the player can perform stretches with either button or motion controls. Which special characters participate depend on who is on the island at the time. Unlike its original appearance, villagers partaking in the stretching will not panic if they go off-sync with the group, but will instead look around as if to make sure they're doing the same thing as the others.
When having multiple players over, only the host can initiate the group stretching, and all players must participate. All players must also be Best Friends with the host. They are all brought to the plaza to join along, and, once the session has ended, they return to their previous locations.
Special rewards will be given to the player after doing a group stretch once per day.

A TV program also features a brief instrumental version of the background music for group stretching.
The background music for morning aerobics was included as a track on Animal Crossing Sound CD: Keke Choice! Mix. It also featured on Atsumare Dōbutsu no Mori: Original Soundtrack 2, which not only included the background music on the fifth disc, but also a CD with a video of characters performing group stretching for each season.

In Doubutsu no Mori, the music for morning aerobics was composed by Shinobu Nagata, who also rearranged it for New Horizons. Both versions feature a voice speaking in Animalese, presumably instructing the poses.
