The backlit sign is a customizable miscellaneous furniture item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons introduced in the 2.0 Free Update. As a miscellaneous item, it can be placed on either the ground or on the surfaces of tables and other similar furniture items that have surfaces for items. The player can interact with this item to turn its lighting effect on or off.

The backlit sign can be obtained from either Nook's Cranny for  7,260 Bells or the Paradise Planning office for  6,500 Poki. The item's text pattern can be customized either by using 3 customization kits or by Cyrus at Harv's Island for  2,400 Bells. When customizing the item's text pattern, the player can use one of their own custom designs. The item's frame can only be customized by Cyrus.

In Happy Home Paradise, this item is unlocked for use in designing when doing a vacation home request for Astrid, Bangle, Boris, Cube, Cyd, Elmer, Fang, Gruff, Kyle, Maddie, Pate, Quillson, Raddle, Rocco, Rodney, and Truffles.

After unlocking this item in Happy Home Paradise, the item can be purchased from Wardell's catalog.
