Birthday cupcakes are items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. They are listed under the miscellaneous furniture category despite not being a furniture item. Birthday cupcakes are edible and by eating it, the player will earn energy to be able to relocate trees or break rocks. Up to 10 of the item can be stacked together.
Obtaining and usage
Birthday cupcakes can be obtained after hitting the birthday piñata that the villagers construct at the start of the player's birthday. They can be traded around to other villagers to obtain a gift pertaining to friendship level 3 or 4, or an clothing item that the player is currently wearing.[1] If a villager is currently at or above friendship level 3 with the player, the player can receive items from the Birthday Set, but only if certain criteria are set.
If the player is currently at level 3 or 4 friendship with a villager, the player can obtain the Birthday candles, Birthday sign, Birthday cake, party flooring, party wall, and Birthday shades so long as the player has not obtained the Birthday candles or Birthday shades before. If the player has obtained the Birthday candles but not the Birthday shades, the player can obtain the Birthday cake, party flooring, party wall, and Birthday shades. If the player has obtained the Birthday shades but not the Birthday candles, the player can obtain the Birthday candles, Birthday sign, Birthday cake, party flooring, and party wall. If the player has obtained both the Birthday candles and Birthday shades, the player will only receive regular gift pertaining to friendship level 3 or 4, or an clothing item that the player is currently wearing.[1]
If the player is currently at level 5 or 6 friendship with a villager, the player can obtain any item from the Birthday Set so long as they have not received an item from that set before. If the player has obtained each item of the Birthday Set, the player will only receive regular gift pertaining to friendship level 3 or 4, or an clothing item that the player is currently wearing.[1]
