The kotatsu is a customizable furniture item in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Its surface functions as a tabletop, allowing smaller items to be placed on top of it.
The kotatsu can be obtained from Timmy and Tommy's store for 1,200 Bells.[nb 2] The item's blanket can be customized by Cyrus for 120 Bells.
This item appears as a furniture item in the homes of Curt, Flip, Hamphrey, Kabuki, and Mott. As a result, this item can be purchased by the player if they were invited by any of the preceding villagers. These villagers may also put this item up for sale at the Re-Tail flea market for 50% to 90% of the item's buy price, in increments of 10%.
