The Mario outfit is a dress-up item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons introduced in the 1.8.0 Free Update as part of the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. The item can be worn by either the player or any villagers. When it is put on, the first few notes of "Ground BGM" from Super Mario Bros. plays. This item is based on the outfit worn by Mario.
The Mario outfit can be obtained from Nook Shopping for 2,400 Bells. Prior to version 3.0, it was only available for purchase if the player had a Nintendo Account linked to their Nintendo Switch user profile and the system date was set to March 1, 2021 or later.
