The new year's card is a stationery item in every first-generation Animal Crossing game. The player can use this item to write letters.
The new year's card cannot be obtained as an item, though it is the stationery used by Mom in her letter sent to the player on New Year's Day.

The new year's card in Doubutsu no Mori
The new year's card in Dòngwù Sēnlín
In Doubutsu no Mori and Doubutsu no Mori+, the new year's card is known as しょうがつなびんせん. In Doubutsu no Mori e+, this is changed to ニューイヤーびんせん. Additionally, in Doubutsu no Mori and Doubutsu no Mori+, the new year's card has different design, with the green lines, no border, and kadomatsus on each side. Additionally, Dòngwù Sēnlín features a different design. Doubutsu no Mori e+ retains the design from Animal Crossing.
