Real-world information
Omurice (オムライス Omu-raisu?) is a Japanese dish that composes an omelette with fried rice and scrambled eggs, and topped with ketchup. The dish is popular among children. Some variations include adding meats to the rice, or using beef stock or demi-glace to replace the ketchup. The dish originally came from a restaurant called Renga-tei, located in the Ginza district of Tokyo, around the turn of the 20th century. More information on this topic is available at Wikipedia.
