The otoshidama is an item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons introduced in the 2.0 Free Update. The otoshidama can only hold Bells and once unwrapped the item is removed.
The otoshidama is obtained after the player uses a otoshidama envelope to wrap Bells, which is only available from December 22 to January 5 during the Shōgatsu Nook Shopping seasonal event.
