The Virtual Boy is a furniture item in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It is part of the Nintendo Set. It can be placed on the surface of tables and other similar furniture that have surfaces for items. If this item is placed on the ground however, it is penalized by the Happy Home Academy by 1 point per each item. This item is based on the video game console of the same name.
The Virtual Boy can be obtained from redeeming fortune #40 to either Timmy or Tommy at their store after eating a fortune cookie. Its fortune references the console's monochrome red display.

The Virtual Boy is a tabletop video game console made by Nintendo and released in 1995. It uses a pair of red LEDs to display a separate image for each eye, creating a stereoscopic 3D effect. The Virtual Boy was a critical and commercial failure, selling only 770,000 units, making it Nintendo's lowest-selling console. It was discontinued in 1996 with only 22 games released.
