Animal Crossing: Sweet Day[nb 1] is a minigame featured in the Wii U title Nintendo Land based on the Animal Crossing series.

Gameplay[edit]

Gameplay with four players

The game is a five-player minigame. The animal villagers must run around collecting candies scattered across the town and in trees, while evading the guards. Up to four players play the role of animal villagers, while a fifth player uses the Wii U GamePad to control guards based on Booker and Copper. If the animals can collect a certain number of candies (40 for four players, 35 for three or 30 for two), they will win. However, the animals lose if they get caught by the guards three times in total. This applies whether or not the same animal got caught three times or three different animals got caught. The more candies the animal holds, the slower they can run, making the characters easier to catch for the guards. The animals are able to drop candies at will in order to run faster. If a guard catches an animal, that player will lose a large batch of candies. If there is only one animal, the objective will be to collect 15 candies and drop them in dishes dotted around the map.

Although no more than five players are officially supported in Animal Crossing: Sweet Day, up to six players can participate if two players share the GamePad to control the guards cooperatively.
