Nookipedia talk:Months

This namespace?[edit]

Just wondering: Should we create an Events: namespace for in game events and months like this? It seems kind of off-topic in this namespace, which is used for wiki policies, etc...

Also, are you aware that some month pages like December already exist? --Jake 19:06, 12 December 2010 (EST)

I knew they existed, but I needed a template to do what I wanted.-Vulpes 19:15, 12 December 2010 (EST)
Oh, ok. And what do you think about that namespace? We could use it for more details events pages, instead of putting them all in Events. --Jake 19:23, 12 December 2010 (EST)
It could work. Eventually, I'd like the events to be daily, but I figured I'd start with months.-Vulpes 19:27, 12 December 2010 (EST)
Yeah. I'm also going to work on a template that will show up on the main page when an event is occurring. That'll probably be tested in the sandbox first though. --Jake 19:32, 12 December 2010 (EST)
You don't need a template for that. What you would do is the same as the months thing, just with one for every day.-Vulpes 19:34, 12 December 2010 (EST)
I mean a template that would be included in MediaWiki:Sitenotice, but would only appear on days where events occur in-game. It would link to the day articles that you were referring to. --Jake 19:41, 12 December 2010 (EST)

I think the easiest way to do that would be to create pages for each day at a place like ACW:Calendar. For event days, create a page at ACW:Calendar/[Month Day] saying "today's the [whatever]"! For non-event days, make the page blank. Then you can put {{Nookipedia:Calendar/{{LOCALMONTHNAME}}_{{LOCALDAYNAME}}}} on the site notice. It should only put up a notice on event days.-Vulpes 19:56, 12 December 2010 (EST)
