Nookipedia talk:Personal information

From Nookipedia, the Animal Crossing wiki

This page was previously deleted so maybe I shouldn’t have recreated it[edit]

But while I wouldn’t reveal ANY personal info about anyone for no reason, let’s say I reveal someone’s age or first name when they didn’t want to have it exposed. Given that the page says it’s generally OK to reveal this kind of info about people, would this be a warnable offense? Super Mario World Yoshi art.pngSuper Mario World 03:49, December 6, 2023 (EST)

It's generally fine to re-create talk pages! If they're deleted, it's usually because it was previously created for vandalism, spam, or off-topic chatter.
The page describes revealing information about yourself, not other people. I've updated the page to clarify that. Also note the last few sentences: "Editors should not post personal, non-public information about other editors". If someone reveals private information about someone else who does not want it shared, that edit will be hidden from the public. Whether the user would get a reminder, formal warning, or block depends on the severity of the information reveal, and whether it was done with malicious intent. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 09:03, December 6, 2023 (EST)

Change "I.P. address" to "IP address"[edit]

I think it would be better to change I.P. address to IP address (remove the two dots). The spelling without the dots is far more common (I don't think I've seen it spelt as I.P. address anywhere except this page here). I don't have the permissions to edit the page so I'm writting here. --Swam pl (talk) 10:12, April 6, 2025 (EDT)

My bad: the current text is I.P address and the Wikipedia link is I.P. address (which redirects to IP address). --Swam pl (talk) 10:25, April 6, 2025 (EDT)
I've removed the dots because we don't use that spelling elsewhere, and Wikipedia doesn't use it either (as you said). Thank you for pointing this out! Drago (talk) Drago PC Villager Icon.png 10:51, April 6, 2025 (EDT)
No problem :) Thank you for fixing this. --Swam pl (talk) 10:59, April 6, 2025 (EDT)
