PCC Four Year Cycle[edit]
We know that PCC is going to be running on a four-year cycle, meaning events from 2025 will be the same as 2029. Assuming the Wiki is still being maintained in 2029 and beyond, I feel that tracking things will get very repetitive. Such as tournaments, gyroid hunts, available cookies, etc. I could very well update the Cozy Canine Set and say it's available from February 20- February 27, 2025, 2029, 2033, 2037, etc etc etc. It's endless on a four year cycle.
Would it worth putting everything in groups of 4 years. Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4. So then, I could say "Cozy Canine Set is available February 20 - February 27, Year 1."
(This is assuming we are currently on Year 1, and that PCC runs on a December - November year, OR that December 2024 was technically Year 4... does anybody know?) - Dataminers say December was Year 4
Now, this really won't be an issue until 2029, I'm just thinking ahead about possibly sparing us a ton of editing once the cycle repeats. --- AmbidexHex (Talk)
Support Generally I support this although I'd like to see letters or roman numerals used for the years so they're more easily distinguished. (Year A, Year B or Year I, Year II). - unsigned comment from LeoGrun (talk • contribs)
- Personally, I don’t think Roman Numerals are a good idea, especially because it only goes up to four. (I,II,III,IV looks very repetitive) and as far as I’m aware, nothing else on the wiki uses Roman Numerals. (I could be wrong.) Also, when people are going to search for something, it’s more likely they’ll type “Year 4” as opposed to “Year IV” --- AmbidexHex (Talk)
Support I think the A/B/C/D designation of the years formats it in a way that is easily distinguishes that this is not the years being counted. "Year 1" could easily be mistaken for the first year the game ran rather than the year designation. Common alternative searches can also be redirected. Furthermore, I think having a dedicated page to the year cycles is something worth considering. - serenefork (Talk) 19:29, August 28, 2025 (EDT)
Support - I think for lists/tables we should also list the most recent and next year that a particular event occurred/will occur to provide further context to readers. I also agree that Year A/B/C/D is the best way to denote these. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 00:43, September 12, 2025 (EDT)
