Meteor Showers in New Horizons

Capitalization

Wild World may not be random

While fishing tonight, I saw a shooting star at 7:11 PM and obviously couldn't wish on it because I had the fishing rod equipped, but I decided to test something. A few days ago I came across a guide that claims Gulliver's UFO spawns on the first minute that ends in 2 or 7 that occurs after you start the game if he's the visitor for that day. (This might be helpful to put on Gulliver's page if it's true. Here's the guide I got this info from.)

I reset the game, went through Resetti's dialogue, and waited almost ten minutes. As soon as the clock hit 7:21 PM, a shooting star crossed the sky. Just to make sure it wasn't a meteor shower, I then waited until 7:31 PM, but no shooting star happened then.

I wonder if shooting stars act like Gulliver, spawning on the first minute after 7PM that ends in 1 that occurs after you start the game if the game decides it's spawning one that day. SlyAceZeta (talk) 19:34, February 1, 2025 (EST)

First of all, I don't think the guide you linked is correct, although it's true that Gulliver's UFO only appears at times ending in 2 or 7. I do think it's possible that meteors are linked to the clock; perhaps they only appear when the clock hits a time ending in 1? More research needed! Drago (talk) 10:55, February 2, 2025 (EST)

I have a copy of Wild World, I could help test this. Would it possibly apply to City Folk as well? I haven't played much of that one so I don't know if the wishing is a feature, I just know the game is very similar to Wild World - - - AmbidexHex (Talk)

There's no wishing in City Folk, and meteors appear as part of meteor showers instead of randomly. Drago (talk) 12:18, February 3, 2025 (EST)
