Separate pages for NH invalid songs[edit]

I am proposing independent pages are also created for the invalid songs in New Horizons. Here is why:
- These are actual songs in the game's code. They are included in the game's internal list of songs, and have unobtainable items with parameters for music items. The item names, regardless of language, are "はずれ01", "はずれ02", and "はずれ03" respectively. Each K.K. song also has an internal name, used both for the audio file and as an item parameter. (e.g. "K.K. Chorale"'s internal name is "Sanbika".) For these songs, they are simply "Hazure01", "Hazure02", and "Hazure03"— pretty straightforward.
- This wiki had pages for "Animal City", "Drivin", and "Farewell" long before New Horizons; the only difference was the names for these songs were (roughly) known because they were included in the game files instead of being given placeholder names. I say roughly because they were the Japanese names, so the latter two pages used to be called "Drive" and "Goodbye". Thankfully the official English names ended up being pretty similar, or the same in the first case.
- As a note, these songs also have numbers, once again both in the audio files and item parameters. Oddly, unlike past games where invalid songs were given the next three numbers, they are #901, #902, and #903. I suspect in the next game they will actually be #96, #97, and #98.
So, I think these songs merit their own pages titled "Hazure01", "Hazure02" and "Hazure03" (italicized because these are transliterations of the actual item names), as currently these are the official names. Whenever the next game comes out and these are given actual names and numbers, we can change them. Chubby Bub (talk) 21:28, May 24, 2021 (EDT)
- Oppose I don't really think the invalid songs in their current state have enough material to warrant their own pages. Perhaps the mechanic of invalid songs could be its own page (but even then, I'm 50/50 on that idea), but for each and every current invalid song to have its own page, I don't think it's worth the effort. - I don't think invalid songs as a mechanic need their own page, because that's closely intertwined with secret songs and is aptly described here. I suppose we could also just create the pages to redirect to the "In New Horizons" section of this page. Speaking of which, something I've failed to mention is that the links at the very least will be necessary, whether their own pages or redirects— for people searching for the song, linking on other music pages ("Hazure01" is already referenced on several pages due to being a remix of the WW/CF title), and I think they should be at least mentioned beyond "invalid songs exist" at List of K.K. Slider songs. I guess to reiterate my thinking: they are unobtainable, but they are still K.K. songs. Chubby Bub (talk) 22:28, May 24, 2021 (EDT)
- I would Support redirecting these to Secret song#In New Horizons, but I would Oppose creating individual pages for them since there's not really to much to say about them aside from their composition, which is already noted on the secret song page. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 22:33, May 24, 2021 (EDT)
- Yeah, I think redirects are the best way to go, so I Support that, as well. TurtleCrossing of the Turtle Tribe 22:37, May 24, 2021 (EDT)
- Support for the redirect, Oppose for individual pages, though as a sidenote, I do think we should also list the live versions of the invalid New Horizons songs in Secret songs. -- PanchamBro (talk • contributions) 22:58, May 24, 2021 (EDT)
- Like everyone else has said, Support for redirects, Oppose for separate pages. There isn't much info on invalid songs for them to have their own page. ~ Vivian (talk) 23:01, May 24, 2021 (EDT)
- When the next Animal Crossing game comes out and these are obtainable songs with proper names, they need their own pages. But until then, I Support the redirects. Sirfetch'd (talk) 08:34, May 27, 2021 (EDT)
Support Redirects, Oppose Their on pages till more info come about the songs. Petaldancer66😺 Petaldancer66 talk 23:34, June 17, 2021 (EDT)

"Forest" text input for Forest Life?[edit]
This page and an earlier version of the Forest Life page state that inputting the word "Forest" (on this page) or "forest" (on the Forest Life page) will have K.K. play it in games prior to Doubutsu no Mori e+. On the Forest Life page, it used to be uppercase "Forest" until Dorsal Axe converted it to lowercase "forest." The original statement was written by StrawberryChan. However, it was removed from the Forest Life page by GENI after a claim that it doesn't work (see here).
- Does this rule only apply to Animal Crossing?
- Is it case-sensitive or not?
- Does inputting this English word work in Doubutsu no Mori and Doubutsu no Mori+? Would it work if the Japanese equivalents, もり or 森, are inputted?
This needs to be clearer so that the information can either be removed from this page or re-added back to the Forest Life page. HylianAngel (talk) 19:20, October 23, 2022 (EDT)
- I added that statement based on the old revision of "Forest Life" assuming that page was accurate, but haven't personally tested it myself. It seems a bit fishy, so I'd be inclined to remove it for the time being until we can get a proper confirmation. StrawberryChan (talk) 19:26, October 23, 2022 (EDT)
- ...Wait, no, I added it there, too? I know I saw someone make that claim somewhere. FANDOM, maybe? Sorry for the confusion. StrawberryChan (talk) 19:29, October 23, 2022 (EDT)
- It's fine! Thank you for taking the time to clear it up. HylianAngel (talk) 20:03, October 23, 2022 (EDT)
Changing title[edit]
How about we change the title to "Secret songs" instead of "Secret song"? Because this page is about multiple secret songs. Acnh Player (talk) 11:35, April 9, 2024 (EDT)
- In general it's preferable for titles to be singular even if the subject may normally be plural. Other examples include Flower and Villager, for example. That's because when you pluralize something, you can just add an s to the end of the link (like this:
[[Secret song]]s
). StrawberryChan (talk) 11:42, April 9, 2024 (EDT)
