NLa vs. WA[edit]
Closing discussion in favor of move to Template:NLWa. Consensus was reached that "NLWa" fully describes the game's subtitle, New Leaf - Welcome amiibo, (which "NLa" does not), and that it properly denotes Welcome amiibo as distinctly part of New Leaf rather than its own game (which "Wa" does not). ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 20:47, January 6, 2021 (EST)

In addition to this template, we have Template:NLa, which appears to be identical. Not only this, but our usage of abbrieviations for Welcome amiibo outside of the template (e.g. file names) is very inconsistent. I propose we drop "NLa" and stick to "Wa" (or possibly "NLWa") for an acronym, as it matches all of our other game acronyms being the game's subtitle (e.g. "Welcome amiibo" or "New Leaf Welcome amiibo"), and because "NLa" doesn't really make sense ("New Leaf amiibo"?). ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 12:31, November 11, 2020 (EST)
- I think the reason we favored "NLa" is because it's an update to a game, not a separate game outright. But I'm happy to switch if the community thinks that's the best way to go. Drago (talk)
13:15, November 11, 2020 (EST) - I found this brief mention on MetalScorpion's talk page regarding the use of {{NLa}} over {{WA}}. I've also discussed this a bit on #wiki-general supporting NLa over WA, although there is a mention of the sheer number of pages that use WA over NLa. I still believe that NLa represents the game better since it is an improvement over NL (also pages like Huck use NLa), although on whichever direction we go, a mass replacement of all instances of one template over the other should be doable.
Decomposer 09:55, November 17, 2020 (EST) - I think that NLWa would be best. I don't think that WA is suitable because as Drago & Decomposer have noted, it suggests that Welcome amiibo is a separate game as opposed to the name of a major update to New Horizons.
