We're glad you've taken the step to create an account and edit our wiki! With an account you'll now be able to easily edit pages, participate in discussions, watch pages, track your edits, and have access to additional editing tools. You can also create and edit your own user page.

If you intend to continue editing, here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Read our wiki's general use and editing, and privacy policies.
  • Preview your changes before saving them to avoid the need for making corrections afterwards.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes instead of undoing or reinstating changes repeatedly without discussion.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This code will automatically leave your name and a timestamp.

You can find editing tutorials and further information about our policies on the help pages.

Where to start? Check out the The Roost for the latest discussions, or consult the to-do list on the Main Page to see tasks that need to be worked on.
Questions? Feel free to ask a member of staff directly, post your question on the The Roost talk page, or ask about it on our Discord icon Discord server. We're always happy to help!

Question regarding content source[edit]

Hi Razender - I've got a quick question. Did you copy the content in this edit from anywhere, in part or in whole? When Googling the text, I get results from both Wikipedia and other sites. If you are copying content from Wikipedia, such as you did at Help:Images, that is fine, except that you have to state that you have done so on the article. If you are copying content from elsewhere, chances are that it's fully copyrighted and we cannot use it. Instead, it has to be written in your own words. Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk 14:54, 27 December 2010 (EST)

Some of the content I did take from Wikipedia and another site, yes. I'll get right to editing the content now. Though I had no idea that you had to cite Wikipedia here. Sorry for the inconvenience. Razender 19:51, 27 December 2010 (EST)
No problem, thanks for taking care of it. Wikipedia's license is basically that anyone can use their content for almost any purpose, as long as it is attributed and released under the same license. Since ACWiki releases its content under the same license that Wikipedia does, we can use Wikipedia's content as long as we attribute it. Regardless, it is generally desired that users write everything in their own words, since you don't have to attribute anything and it keeps the article free of one more ugly tag. ~SuperHamster Talk 19:59, 27 December 2010 (EST)

Template modification[edit]

Hey Razender, thanks for your image work :) This is just to let you know that you no longer have to copy and paste the specifications of the CC-BY-SA 3.0 license onto the images that you upload under that license - I have copied them into the CC-BY-SA 3.0 template itself. ~SuperHamster Talk 18:54, 30 December 2010 (EST)
