==Citizen Satisfaction==

The more points the player has, the better rating they get. To receive the town rating, the player can go to the Town Hall and talk to Isabelle. They should then select 'citizen satisfaction'. Isabelle will then sum up the villager's ratings of the village. To rate the town, villagers will say how much they like the town and which aspects they favor. After listening to the rating, Isabelle will tell the player what she thinks the villagers want them to work on. The villager's rating will differ every time a goal is met. To get a good rating, the player should play often, plant lots of flowers, pull weeds, control the amount of trees, pick up items dropped on the ground and talk to the villagers often.

The approval rating is a feature in Animal Crossing: New Leaf that shows how much the residents of the player's town approve of the mayor. A 100% approval rating is required to receive the development permit, which allows the mayor to build public works projects and enact town ordinances. To increase the approval rating, the mayor must complete various tasks; the rating starts between around 0 and 30 percent. Isabelle tells the mayor the approval rating and ways to improve it when the mayor sits at their desk at Town Hall.

The approval rating is not mentioned after the development permit is received, and it has no further effect on the town or mayor.
