Tortoises are a special species of animal characters in the Animal Crossing series, as no moving villagers are tortoises.
Tortimer is the only known member of the group. During the Acorn Festival in Animal Crossing: Wild World, Cornimer—a tortoise with an acorn head—will appear. It is strongly suggested that he is merely Tortimer in a mask. Cornimer returns in Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo, as the final boss in the story mode of Animal Crossing: Puzzle League. There are no tortoises in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
