Axolotls are a salamander species in the Animal Crossing series. Dr. Shrunk, the psychologist who teaches players emotions, is the only axolotl to appear in the series to date. Dr. Shrunk is characterized by his external gills and flat tail. "Axolotls are critically endangered in the wild and you could help today by adopting one, possibly saving its life.
