Croque (タイシ, Taishi) is a cranky frog villager in the Animal Crossing series. He was introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. His name derives from the onomatopoeia of the sound frogs make: “croak”, while his catchphrase highlights his cranky personality.

Appearance

Croque's concept may be loosely based off of fire, with a sun-like pattern on his face, his photo quote, and with his seasonal home. His mouth is very near the bottom of his face, with a mustache on top of it. Croque is mostly seen frowning or annoyed, due to his pouty mouth and arched eyebrows. His skin is a dark orange, with yellowish tips on his limbs. He initially sports the Chinese Shirt.

Personality

Below is a brief description of the cranky personality. For more information, click here. Cranky villagers are usually depicted as stereotypical peaceful, older animals. They enjoy fishing, bug catching, and other hobbies and interactions. They are the male counterpart of snooty villagers, and fill up a "fatherly" role for the player, often giving them advice and are enthusiastic about competing and chatting with them. They, however, aren't very happy with the eager and childish tendencies of jock, peppy, and lazy villagers.

House

His house looks like an autumnal forest. He has two tall clankoids by the entrance of his house. He has two tall lanterns in the center. There is a bonfire, deer scare, an outdoor bath, and three trees near the back.
