She was originally intended to make an appearance in Wild World, but was replaced by a new character called Anabelle. She reappeared in Animal Crossing: City Folk. In Doubutsu no Mori+, Animal Crossing, and Doubutsu no Mori e+, she is an islander. Her name is based on the ankh, which is the Egyptian hieroglyphic character that reads "life." Her Japanese name is based on the famous Egyptian river, the River Nile. Her catchphrase relates to her arrogant "snooty" personality, by saying "me," and a sound a cat makes, "meow." House

In the first Animal Crossing, Ankha's house has an island look. She will ask the player for the Harp, Ivory Piano, Pachira, Regal Dresser, Regal Vanity, Retro Stereo, White King, and White Queen for her house.

In Animal Crossing: City Folk, Ankha's house instead takes on an Egyptian look. She has the Ancient Wall and matching carpet in her house. She also has a pyramid, a sphinx, and a birdcage. If she gets a stereo it will play "Marine Song 2001."
