Leonardo is a tiger villager from the Animal Crossing series. He debuted in the Japan exclusive title Doubutsu no Mori e+, and then after being absent from Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk, reappeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. His name is a reference to a leopard, which he resembles. Likewise, his Japanese name comes from hyou, meaning leopard. His Japanese initial phrase, ja ga, means "though" and is a pun on jagā, meaning "jaguar."
Characteristics
Appearance
Leonardo is a yellow tiger, who's appearance and name is heavily based on a leopard, an animal that is in the Panthera genus, which the tiger is also a part of. His eyes are black and half-closed, and he has small brown stripes on his cheeks. He has two brown spots on his head and more on his arms, legs, and tail.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the jock personality. For more information, click here.
Leonardo has a jock personality, which means he will have a keen interest in sports and fitness making him appear competitive and in some cases rude when talking to other villagers, usually criticizing their fitness. He will appear slow-witted and absent-minded when in deep, meaningful discussions. He will get along well with peppy villagers, but get confused by the choice of lifestyle followed by lazy villagers, who appear opposite to the jock personality, although his heroic appearance matches the lazy villager's dream of becoming a super hero. He may offend and upset snooty and cranky villagers, by questioning their physical fitness and age. He will get along with normal villagers, but may, on the rare occasion, anger them. He loves to catch bugs.
