The Novel Painting (unofficial translation)[nb 1] is a painting in Doubutsu no Mori and Doubutsu no Mori+. In Doubutsu no Mori+, it is only available though the Data Moving Service, and it does not appear in the catalog. It is based on Piet Mondrian's Composition with Red, Yellow, and Blue. Like the Dreadful Painting, the Novel Painting's removal is for legal reasons, as Composition with Red, Yellow and Blue was under the legal ownership of the Mondrian estate at the time; his portfolio did not enter the public domain until 2015, long after the release of Animal Crossing.
