The sea horse[nb 1] (formatted as the seahorse prior to City Folk) is a sea fish in the Animal Crossing series introduced in Doubutsu no Mori e+. It appears as a tiny shadow in the sea all day (in all games except Animal Crossing: City Folk) from mid spring to the end of fall. In City Folk exclusively, the sea horse is only available from 9 AM to 4 PM from May to September, and is available all day in April and from October to November.

Real-world information[edit]
The males carry the eggs in a brood poach located under the tail. The females lay their eggs into the pouch, and the male carries them around until they hatch. It is a harmless fish, popular in private and public aquariums.
