Real-world information

Real life image of the Statue of Liberty.

The Statue of Liberty is a sculpture in New York City that depicts Libertas, a Roman liberty goddess. It was built in the late 19th century by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi as a gift to the people of the United States. Originally colored copper, oxidation resulted in the statue's green pigment to this very day. The Statue of Liberty has since become an icon representing the country and its freedom, as well as a symbol of welcome to immigrants arriving in the United States by sea.
