Otherwise, he gives a piece of deep, philosophical information and floats downstream out to sea.

Gulliver is a seagull explorer. In Animal Crossing (GCN), he's a sailor who washes ashore on random days. When you wake him up, he tells you that he fell overboard in the course of a heroic struggle (the exact nature of the struggle changes with each visit, and as later conversation reveals, all his heroic tales are colorful lies). In Animal Crossing: City Folk, and Animal Crossing: Wild World, he pilots a UFO, which you can shoot down with your slingshot as it crosses the skies. You must then help him reassemble the pieces of his damaged space ship. He is very friendly and approachable, but tends to ramble and therefore may bore you. Each time you help him, he will give you a rare furniture item.

In WW, Redd will visit your town once a week. You will find him in a large tent placed on the stone area in front of your Town Hall. Inside his tent, there will be three items that you can buy (one painting and two pieces of furniture), but Redd will not let you enter his tent unless you have the password. To get the password, walk around your town and talk to the villagers. But be careful what you buy, because this sneaky fox will sell you counterfeit paintings every so often, and he sells the furniture for 50% extra than Tom Nook. Redd is an Orange Fox with a white mouth and underside. In Animal Crossing: City Folk, you will find Redd in the city.

Kapp'n is the first person that you meet in Animal Crossing: Wild World. He drives you to your new destination in his Cab, helping you determine your name, gender and your town's name. Unfortunately, you may never see him again in Animal Crossing: Wild World, unless you happen to bump into him in the Roost. However, in Animal Crossing: City Folk, you can see Kapp'n as many times as you wish, because he's the bus driver who drives you to and from the city! If you play as a girl, he will take quite a liking to you. In Animal Crossing (GCN), you can meet him by connecting your Game Cube to a GameBoy Advanced via connection cable and going to the dock. He will row you to and from a small island, singing a sea shanty as he does.

Joan is an old female boar who comes to your town every Sunday to sell her turnips. In Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk, she has 2 types of turnips for sale: red and white. Red Turnips are sold as seed packets, which you can plant in the soil outside, and which MUST watered everyday, although too much watering will ruin them. Only one Red Turnip is available for purchase each week, and it costs 1000 bells. The longer you care for it, the bigger it grows, although it will rot after 7 days. You can sell these turnips to Tom Nook. The bigger it is, the more money he will pay. White Turnips are sold in bunches are used to trade in what the animals refer to as the "Stalk Market". Tom Nook buys these turnips for prices that change from day to day and twice a day (morning and night). Both red and white turnips will rot at the end of a week. However, Red Turnips that haven't been planted in the ground are exempt from rotting, and by placing a bundle of white turnips on a table inside the player's house (you must first drop a tool, which will land on the floor in front of the table, then drop the turnip so it lands atop the table), you can keep them from ever spoiling. Note, however, that time-traveling, or traveling to a town that has a different time setting, may cause any turnip on your person to spoil.
