The soundtrack for Main Street changed after I upgraded T&T Mart to Super T&T. Is upgrading from T&T Mart to Super T&T a prerequisite(if yes, if it's the only) for the music change to happen? Also a rambling; Super T&T has the least generous operating hours out of all T&T marts in this game. Better buy something like a Ninja Sword(9600 Bells) or a White Katana(36800 Bells(!!)) and wait for another month to upgrade to TIY, which appears to have a far more generous operating hours(at least what I have seen on different AC communities)
