'''Summer''' in the {{SER}} is a season that starts on [[June]] 1 and ends on [[August]] 31. In the Southern Hemisphere in {{NH|short|nolink}}, summer starts at [[December]] 1 and ends on [[February]] 28 (or 29th on leap years). 

The setting of summer is where the trees and grass are at their greenest. The weather is mainly sunny with the possibility of rainfall towards the middle of June / December to early July / January. In games prior to {{NH|short}}, the sunshine allows for the player to receive a [[tan]] when stood outside for long periods of time without holding an umbrella. 

Halfway through June in the Northern Hemisphere, heavy rainfall with possibly of thunderstorms will appear frequently and will last through the early part of July. For the rest of July / January, it is hot and dry, with occasional small bursts of rain. Neighbors during this period will complain that it is too hot. In August / February, it's usually humid and neighbors will complain about the "stickyness". It will sometimes rain, but when it does its usually around the end of the day or the afternoon. This usually brings up the chances of encountering a rainbow on these dates. By the end of season, the trees and the grass will turn into a deeper or darker shade of green which will deteroiate as the next season begins.

In {{NH|short|nolink}}, [[beach]]es will occasionally spawn {{I|Summer Shell|New Horizons}}s to use in [[DIY recipes]]. Additionally for the Southern Hemisphere, from December 15 to January 6, all existing [[tree|cedar trees]] will be decorated with lights, and when shaken, produces {{I|Red Ornament|New Horizons|text=Red}}, {{I|Blue Ornament|New Horizons|text=Blue}}, and {{I|Gold Ornament|New Horizons}}s for DIY projects. Rain occurs infrequently during this time in part due to festivities with [[Toy Day]] and [[New Years]].
