Shirt

Shirts are clothing that can be worn in all installments of the Animal Crossing series. In the earlier versions for the Nintendo 64 and Nintendo GameCube, the player would have either a viking helmet or a princess hat on, which would have a matching pattern to the shirt the player was wearing. Later, the player could have any headpiece. Players can acquire shirts by doing characters favors, buying them from the Able Sisters, and receiving them as gifts from other characters.

New Leaf

This installment introduces the ability to make custom patterns, allowing the player to create their own shirts and dresses. Players can also set a custom pattern as a town flag by talking to Isabelle in the town hall. Players can currently save up to eight custom patterns.
